I realized what you had implied, but why does he "deserve" a slow and painful death? Is revenge the main purpose of our legal system?

 

Well the reason is because out of all the people he ate/killed, im pretty sure it wasn't fast or pain full.. My opinion is that he deserves the punishment the was dealt on the poor innocent victims.

 

So, people should punished as they have dealt out? The murderer should be murdered? The thief should be stolen from? The tax defrauder defrauded?

I think he deserved what he got. He didn't look too fat to go to Wal-Mart and buy some food, and he could always have got a takeaway, so there's no reason to kill young people and eat them.

 

No he didn't deserve it. Who are we to say whether or not he felt remorse after committing those acts? Knowing that you will spend the rest of your life in the lowest place on Earth with the scum of society should be punishment enough.

 

Bullshit, he felt remorse? He wanted to atone? He killed, raped, and ate 17 people, and tried to do the same to another one. He didnt even have to difficult of a childhood, he was just fucked up. I don't care if it is petty revenge, that man deserved a slow, painful death involving sticking needles up his fingernails. Yes, we are stooping to his level, but only in order to 1) Give an example of what happens to men who kill/rape/eat other men so they don't follow in his ways and 2) Give him the proper punishment that he deserves for eating people and 3) If I was eaten by some sycho dude, I can garuntee that I would want him SEVERELY punished. Like, beaten to an inch before death every day for the rest of his life.

Can you honestly say that you wouldnt want him punished? What would you suggest you do with a man like that Shredder?

 

So basically, you want revenge. How noble. To me, that suggests that you are more of an emotional thinker than a logical one.

I would have him placed in jail for the rest of his life, to remove the danger to society.

 

I feel like your putting to much logic into your opinion. If this happened a family member of yours, or a loved one, that was eaten/raped/killed at a young age, I can't imagine that the only thing you would say is "Put him in jail so he cant threaten society". He doesn't deserve to get off that easy.

If he killed a family member of mine, I would be clearly biased towards what punishment he would receive, and thus, should not be allowed a say.

Why does he just "not deserve" to get off that easy?

 

Look at the atrocities which he commited in his life. How can he be allowed to life his life in full, with a bed and three meals a day, even though he took so many other lifes? How is that the right thing to do? I do not believe that a man who took away the lifes of 17 people should be allowed to just sit in a jail for the rest of his life, even if a life time in jail...blows. But, he deserves much worse.

well personally he should stay in prison for life beaten to death untill he begs for mercy then stick him in a mental room no food no water no anything nd let him rot for what he had done to them people

Good questions. This sounds alot like one of those conspiracy theories.
Theres no way he felt remorse for doing that. I couldn't live with my self if I did something like that. He definately deserves it. He should have been sentanced to capital punishment if you ask me.

Personally I think that he shouldn't have been killed by intentional negligence by the prison guards, but only for this reason: perhaps psychologists would have been able to study his habits (other than raping and eating men) and learn how to prevent other Jeffrey Dahmers from happening.
