I'm beginning to like the champion Jax more and wanted to know some of his counters. If anyone knows any let me know please thank you.

He's early game is somewhat weak. Well not even weak, just more passive. Once you hit 6, and have 1-2 items you're basically the king of split push and 1V1. With the current meta of lane phase being super safe, and generally games going for longer, Jax is currently in the top 3 of all top laners (said by doublelift, faker and other pros (reddit)).
He gets bullied early by shyvana, rennekton and ryze. Ryze would be your hardest champion to vs early. Once you get going however, you win.

I just use fiora top. 100% win rate here with her top even vs jax.

I agree with what seller said however just like Ryze is a counter to Riven, if you know the match-up and practice it enough, Jax can have no early problems vs ryze at all. Renekton right now is very strong and in my eyes needs a nerf badly his sustain vs damage is higher then any top laner currently, however same thing if you get snowballing at all early, he is no competition for you.

In any case, I think Jax is insanely strong right now, definitely the best split pusher in the current meta next to Trynd.
Renekton is his hardest counter (everything in Renekton's kit goes through counterstrike.) You can typically punish Jax hard enough in the first 10-15 minutes and end the game relatively early. Ryze, Malphite, Singed, Garen, and Darius all do very well against him in lane too. The idea when laning against Jax is to shut him down early and not allow him to scale, or choose a pick that can farm with him, scale harder, and be just as useful late (i.e. Singed)

What? Jax can counter strike Fiora's damage and once she blows both of her Q's, shes kinda useless and has to flash if jax re engages since she has no escapes or CC to disengage.
The solution to Renekton is to be aggressive as shit lvl 1. Take E lvl 1, AA a minion twice, then fight renekton. You should win that trade unless you mess up somehow. After that you just have to farm since he'll beat you in the rest of the trades.
Ryze is a good counter to pretty much any melee champions top.
Yeah if i wanna beat a jax im gonna pick renek or ryze, its kinda cheesy but if you know how to play Volibear you can rip up a jax in lane, had a duo that use 2 do it a bunch lol
Also it may seem weird but Trynd can work well vrs him also, Jax always outtrades the trynd but trynd keeps sustaining to full when jax jus runs out of mana, its really annoying for jax if trynd plays it right

That isn't going to work against any good player. Renekton can win level 1 trades with Jax even if he has counterstrike. Autoattack, Q, kite back the counterstrike into your minion line, and you've won the trade. Then levels 2 and 3 come, and you completely destroy Jax. Jax has one of the worst early games in LoL.

Renek is a very good counter against jax, if he's banned I usually pick Darius as he's also a great counter up against jax.
I wouldn't blindly pick Ryze into try and counter Jax. Ryze is very hard to play in the top lane because his damage depends on constantly harrassing the enemy at the right times. If you aren't used to Ryze's limits, after about level 6 a good Jax will just kill you every time you come near the minion wave. Ryze only "counters" Jax because he can potentially shut down Jax so hard levels 1 through 5. After Jax has enough damage and mana pool to do a good Q + W + E combo on Ryze, he can poop on Ryze's early-game squishiness. Jax is very strong counter to most ranged champs in general because his Q can quickly overcome the range-gap, and Jax naturally builds a BOTRK so as a champion with no gap closer, it's hard to disengage from him once he's in range.
Think of it this way: Jax's only real weakness is his inability to win a "trade." Most other melee tops have something that gives them an ability to handle high-damage trades. Renekton has his strong heal and can dash away after his combo; Trundle's natural sustain is so high that he can handle trades and just heal from it over the next minion wave; Riven has her shield and mobility to disengage a trade after landing her combo. Ryze can't "win" trades if it's a true trade; instead, Ryze depends on dealing damage while not taking any damage at all. Ryze has no sustain, and his base movespeed is so low that if a Jax gets in Ryze's face after Ryze tries his stun, Jax gets a LOT of free damage. This is why I say Ryze isn't a good counter unless you are really good with Ryze. With a very-skilled Jax and a very skilled-Ryze, the Ryze wins every time... however, with two novice players on each champ, Jax wins most times.

LOL @ top Google search for "Jax counters" where all of the votes reflect season 2 balance patches. Everyone knows Champselect.net is outdated and worthless. Right now, with the current strength of Triforce and the current lane safety, so many of those picks actually get raped by Jax.
For instance, here are some picks mentioned to beat Jax:
Garen = bad in general. Even if Garen wins lane he loses the game. Also, beefiness doens't stop Jax who auto-builds BotRK and deals hybrid damage. Garen's only role right now is to beat Bronze noobs in lane. Anyone else who understands trading mechanics will easily abuse Garen's lane bullying. In today's meta, lane bullies need damage mitigation or a significant heal; Garen has neither, so he's just outclassed by champions among the likes of Riven and Renekton.
Malphite = only pick Malphite if you want Jax to freefarm out of control. Right now Malphite loses every trade in lane unless he gets really lucky and can nab a kill when the enemy jungler ganks, and the jungler also feeds him blue buff. Malphite doesn't scale well, and building pure tank just allows Jax to freefarm to level 12 where he rapes. Malphite might be a general counter to Jax because he has an attack speed debuff, but the reduction in ASP definitely does not outweigh the fact that other laners will deny Jax more equivalent power by killing him a lot or denying him farm in lane.
Jayce = too squishy, too high mana costs, and generally nerfed into Urgot-like status since late season 3. Jax would win this matchup after level 4. Anyone would beat Jayce after level 4, since by level 4 Jayce tends to be OOM and has only his pathetically weak auto attacks to trade with.
Elise = Basically the same deal at Jayce. Although her jungling is still good despite her nerfs (because the general buffs to the jungle kind of counter-balance them) but Elise in lane is just asking to get destroyed.
Here are some neglected picks:
Shyvana. Shy is Season 4's version of what Garen used to be, but she does more. She deals hybrid damage, so she's even more annoying than Garen, and her ability to split push and engage fights are both better than Garen's. She takes down towers faster than most tanks can, and her engage is among the best in the game.
Ryze. As I said, with two players who are both very good, Ryze wins 10 out of 10 times. He's strong, and it's worth mentioning that he beats most melee tops as long as the Ryze player is good.
Trundle. Trundle also beats most melee tops, and his ultimate is basically an anti-Jax ultimate. Not only does Trundle generally counter Jax in lane, but his ultimate also means Jax will die very fast in a teamfight. Since lategame Jax is generally the highest priority (because he can basically only be peeled by killing him), the ability to drop his defenses down to half is immensely important.
Teemo. A very good Teemo is very annoying in the top lane. Also, as long as the game stays even, a lategame Teemo shroom mine is one of the most valuable assets you can have on your team.
Nasus. Nasus and Jax both want to freefarm, and both of them can't really trade. Two elements of Nasus's kit counter Jax's kit: the Wither is a really good anti-Jax mechanic in a teamfight, and and Nasus's Q hits through counterstrike. Also, Nasus scales even higher than Jax. Just know that Jax's powerspike is way earlier than Nasus's, so if you aren't careful you can have a Jax suddenly jump in your face and kill you.
Karma. She's hidden OP for top lane, in my opinion. She beats most melee tops, and if Jax jumps in her face, she can win the trade by using the ult+W combo to snare him and heal herself. The only downside is most teams depend on the top lane for being tanky (even Ryze is hella tanky), so with a squishy mage in the top lane, your teamcomp might suffer.
TL;DR: Don't use championselect.net
I actually do like Fiora against Jax because she has a decent amount of trade to block Jax's autos as an answer to counter strike. I wouldn't really pick her, though. My strategy is to ban Jax every game because he's ridiculous. If he's not banned, I'll either play him or go Renekton/Shyvana.

Just ban Jax. He's broken. My smurf's name is a play on renekton, I play renekton, destroy jax, still carries. I actually went 7-0 on a jax, at 35 minutes he penta'd my team. Given my team was useless, but I now pick/ban jax every game. It's just stupid.
Yeah this guy has a good point, this match up is strange, jax is forced to all in the teemo and its usually pretty close but if its a good teemo jax will get crushed, use a split push build or AP build and just never stop terrorizing him :love:
