Jagex's Intentions.

Raunch It K, you are very intelligent I must admit, but Jagex getting rid of the gold in the game? I don't think they give a living fuck. Everyone has begged and begged for a better update with PVP or change it back but all they do is ignore those people who suggest things. All they want is money, money and money.

what the poster that you quoted to ment that if someone put a rare into the exchange, they'd buy it and generate the gold, and kill the rare.

You could be right. Although, construction was supposed to do the same thing, drain money from the economy (basically from people getting planks from the "plank guy" (forgot his name lol)). But people decided to bulk up on planks and sell them to players. It didn't really work how they anticipated, in my opinion. But summoning may try to do the same thing, who knows.

Also,

They have been luring people into membership since day 1 lol. Not just with summoning.

 

they have failed in the past, with the updates.

summoning is only another reason to get members for noobs (higher combat)

That's true, they would want to take as much money as possible of out runescape so that "noobs" will be able to have a chance of actually being on a somewhat level playing field as the rest of players, also many of the older accounts/players stocked up on rares because of their investment capabilities, but with the price setting/GE Jagex is able to stab these players in the backs and completely screw them over especially the one who have played just for fun.
