Again, you're basing it on real-world economics. I promise you it is not the same. I don't think I'd ever get my point across defiantly without Jagex actually implementing it, which will NEVER happen anyways. :/

But, uh, just out of curiosity, when you say that the gp made from alching, stealing, and what not is not necessarily big... I'll have to disagree.. Look at all the bots now-a-days doing JUST that. All the bots are doing right now is providing gold sellers ways to sell gold that they are making from nothing. It's the same concept as if Jagex were selling gold. NOW: If they were operated at the same time... which they would be... THEN there would be a problem and the spiral-out-of-control-economy theory would definitely happen!

 

The economy works the same, supply and demand.

Not necessarily big, but it is still a sizable amount.

Bots generate goods to sell, they do not generate GP. They generate another commodity with a certain exchange rate to GP.


Most if not all game economies work on supply and demand, and the multiple factors influencing them are substitutable in Real and Virtual economies. The reason gold prices dropped when free trade was reintroduced was the reintroduction of 'hidden GP'. People sold trillions worth of RSGP, this GP was taken from legit players, and now all the gold sellers are in control with a large proportion of RSGP ready to be pumped into the economy.

You say its not based on real-world economics, that simply isn't true. Supply and Demand is the key factor which influences the market, which is the same way Real world markets predominately work without intervention.

Jagex can sell the mills, collect the money, deliver the gold, and then instantly roll back the account they delivered to for rule breaking to the monetary value it had before the trade.

This adds no gold to the RS economy while adding gold to their IRL bank accounts
