i think jagex sued some1 for using something of theres that was copyrighted

jagex is filing a lawsuit against someone for copyright

which means jagex made something and you cant make the same thing as what jagex did which is why they are filing a lawsuit

jagex did nothing wrong....so dont worry people arent suing jagex....its jagex suing some1 else

Copyright infringement...so he took/used something that belongs to them without permission, but honestly it could be anything

In other words, they are suing because they are a cheating site and using the word Runescape in some form (pictures or something). And therefore connecting Runescape to a cheat site?

I don't think they have a case because don't you have to have agreed to Jagex's rules in order to breach them? And isn't it the only time you accept the rules when you create a player on runescape? That means that a website has no chains to stop it from freely speaking about bugs? Just as the owner of Sythe.org made this site. He didn't sign anything with Jagex stating he would not break any of Jagex's rules.

Forget Jagex, they are mad at a website for exposing a bug or glitch to everyone else. Instead why not try fixing the bug/glitch/whatever, and getting that out of the way. Heck, use the website to your advantage. But anyway. I don't think they have a case based on the accusations they are throwing at the company. Besides all the website has to do is throw the freedom of speech stuff and right to know/information stuff to help them out. It won't guarantee the case getting thrown out, but it'll surely help.

it has nothing to do with that since the case of date is march and the tainted ones was back in august......

its thats some1 re did something that jagex already did which jagex found otu and are now suing for copyright

Yes, Ughsters situation was worse, they are two different complaints.

I honestly think jagex is wasting their money and time over such small situations..

no they are doign the right thing.

copyright is jsut like plagiarism where people do the same thing as what you did first.

imagine you spent your whole life making something and and it was a success, do you want other people making the same exact thing as yours and sellngi it? or claiming that its theirs?

jagex does not want other people stealing what they originally made

As far as I know, Tainted-Ones did not profit from distributing the information on glitches and bugs. Therefore, they cannot be persecuted for merely distributing the information.

Jagex's in-game rules have no juresdiction over an external site. They can ban your Runescape account, sure. But that's it.

big deal sued some cheating company, Jagex are running out of members cash anyway =p

jagex is one of the biggest game companies around the world and is one of the best places to work at in Europe(saw it on yahoo news once)

so i doubt they will go bankrupt

Information = Viewers , Viewers = More $ for ads, More $ for ads = Profit.

Jagex are over reacting. However, they DO have every right...

I mean, read these 2 stories :

Person A had a lot of quarters, he was walking in the street and putting the quarters into expired parking meters - doing the violates a favor.
Person B, comes up to his car and sees Person A putting a quarter, Person B asks he why he did it, Person A said he is just trying to help out everyone, so , person B filed a law suit against person A..reason? "I don't want him paying for me.."

Story 2: Some dumbass spilled McDonalds coffee on himself and suied McD. for 20 Million dollars and won... :/

Well if you don't visit their site and agree to their TOS then they can't really do anything. Tainted's site was shut down because he's obviously been on the site and agreed to those rules to find the bugs.

Sure, he's been to the site to find the bugs. They can ban his character. But since when do Jagex's rules apply off of the Runescape site?

It's like getting punished in school for getting in a fight in your backyard over the weekend. Which the schools, FYI, do try to do even if they're not allowed to. Same with Jagex.
