Jagex generating gp for selling?

It's definitely not worth the risk of their job to do this; it would be so easy to be seen by other mods... unless all the mods were in on it together and splitting the profits...

Yeah, although it would be worth it as they could make their salary within an hour.

 

I know if I was a game designer I'd maybe add a small little glitch here and there, some hard to find dupe to use in some shitty piece of content that I was forced into making. I might go ahead and add a trick in something like the crucible perhaps, and then log on to my old acc, dupe shitloads through a proxy, sell it, hide the money, and be happy!

 

I don't think that Jmods would spawn items into the game because there probably is a system that detects it and they get paid like a regular job, so i don't think it would even be worth spawning anything and giving it away.

 

They could profit a lot of cash but if they get caught.. Still don't beleive they do it , 50/50.

 

If the entire RuneScape staff wanted this it could be done easily.

 

If i remember correctly Jagex recently added the option to get a refund after being hacked. This is something that could be heavily abused by Jmods. Buy an account on sythe, only log in through vps (To prevent them seeing home computers HWID etc), put cash on the account from another account and wait a few days (weeks maybe). Sell the gold and then file for a refund and go accept it yourself when you get to work. Profit made.

 

This. No idea why so many people think Jagex employees would do this...

 

actually back in the gambling days jagex mods used to lock accounts, log into them and sell the gold+ban them without anyone noticing it.

 

@ Everyone who is responding "Naa they would get caught", OP is talking about upper tier Jmods who don't have anyone above them to get caught by.

Almost all Jagex employees have no ability to create wealth (for the reasons listed in the OP and in case they were hacked, etc).

It is feasible that they could generate some extra revenue through spawning gp and selling it, and catching/banning gold flippers in the process, but since that power is limited to such few people, I doubt they actually would.

*However* The only way a normal Jagex employee could get away with this is to purposely code a bug in the game that allows him to spawn GP, and hope that it doesn't get caught in testing.
