Taking RSGP as payment

How hard/easy is it to take RSGP as payment when I have no experience in Runescape?

 

Very simple. You would just have to get to know the common meeting locations and safe trading practices.

This is why accepting rsgp is probaly one of the safest payment methods

 

If you're receiving decent-sized amounts of gold (5M+ RS2007) (50M+ RS3) then you could just have a trusted gold trader take the gold on your behalf and they pay you $ for the gold. We do that for people fairly often. So in that case, you don't need to log into the game at all.

Either way, it's quite easy to trade in Runescape. Just make a separate 07 and RS3 character and you're good to go.

How do I keep myself updated on the rates then?

 

Once again, keep track by having high volume gold traders on your skype and asking them the rates before a trade.

You may also want to do a bit of quick skilling on the account(s) if you plan on taking bulk rsgp as payment often. RWT bans are very rare, but the chances will decrease if its not a "fresh" lvl 3 account accepting the gp

 

If you can read you can trade gold. Just remember the location you're at and insist whoever you're trading to come meet you there. Look for the trade invite, click it, accept, accept, boom done.

Or, as R2 said, it'd be far easier to skip using RS at all. Just bear in mind that you should be careful and make sure the person trades the right person and so forth.

I've just been thinking about getting into RuneScape cuz I use Sythe quite a lot.

 

Yes. Rsgp is a very easy form of trade just ensure that whoever you trade with confirms that it is indeed them you are trading (to avoid any chance of a scam report). Like R2 said, using a gold seller/buyer without logging in yourself would also save a lot of time and risk.

 

Quick tip: make sure to never leave your computer when logged into OSRS/ RS 2007. They have randoms which could kill you and make you lose your cash stack

 

Randoms aren't aggressive anymore.

 

Little tip on the trading part:

There are PvP worlds in 07 (dont know if they still exist in RS3), where people could meet you and kill you for all your gold. They are the "red" worlds when you go to the world list.

Make sure never to meet someone in one of those

As for trading it, do Waterfall Quest after making your accounts, then train them a little bit (def/mage etc). A few hours at chickens/cows will work after that to get you to good levels (splash mage in 07).

Aside of that, using a gold trader (just check the list of 07/rs3 buying threads to find any buyer you want to use) would always work. It might be nice to notify them that you're not the actual person they're trading with, so they can take that into account.

When in trade, ask your RWTer if they are in trade with someone who put XXXM in trade, then tell your client with the gold that they are in trade with the right person (tell them to check with you before finalizing the trade, as you don't want them to give it to the wrong person).

Following that, everything should work fine.

I'd recommend having a stash of the most common teletabs ready, as well as a few lodestones on RS3 discovered. Duel rings (esp on 07) are handy as many large value trades occur in duel arena.

its a good method, very simple. if you are transferring big amounts, not sure

 

Know the common locations people use to do meet-ups to accept the payment. Remember always to take screenshots on every trade screen. It'll be better.

There have been rumors saying, Jagex will track big amount of trade and will eventually ban the account. It is on and off on that personally it depends on luck too.

 

Thats kinda the same in every game when it comes to in-game currency -> real money...

But ofc. I don't think I will go huge on gold amounts, since only a few people ask me if I accept RSGP as payment. I just finally decided to expand payment methods a bit.
