in relation to jagex's appeals system it is true they have an automated bot however this may soon change if someone finds a way to exploit this....
so maybe it is not wise to make a thread which reveals the very real security flaws in many of jagex's customer support issues, since this is already a well known fact...

Jagex doesn't read the non-last-chance appeals. A bot handles them, looks for certain words, and makes a decision which is partially affected by the level of the character, whether or not it's a member account, and the character's past record. I've had appeals answered within 20 seconds of being sent. Now Jagex fixed that by putting a timer on it so that the appeal isn't answered for at least a few minutes.

What many people don't know is that Jagex's rule-violation-detection software doesn't always penalize you when it finds something bad, but it WILL make a note on the account, complete with a snapshot of the offense. For example, there might be 20 notes to the effect of "Possible Real World Trade Violation". Now if the player suddenly moves $30 million to somebody else via a bogus BH "fight", the system catches that, sees that there are 20 other possible RWT violations, and the player is banned. When the last chance appeal goes through, Jagex has snapshots of everything to view.

Another thing to understand is that Jagex allows a LOT more from a member account than from free to play. That's only natural, as member accounts pay the bills.

I was fishing on a skill account before the balanced trade rule was put into effect, and I forgot where I was and said a few words that Jagex doesn't approve of to a friend in Catherby. Shortly thereafter, I was muted. I went to the appeals page and typed in the following:

"The Queen will play chess with a billy goat before I will apologize for being wrong. Vegetarians can't consume animal crackers, and St. Nicholas has a fluffy white beard. Good day."

A few minutes later, I received this:

"Thank you for your appeal.
We are happy to inform you that this appeal has been successful and your account has been adjusted accordingly.
May we please take this opportunity to remind you to read the Rules of Conduct before your start playing again.

Jagex Customer Support"

The only thing that bot saw was "apologize" and "wrong".

jagex sucks. runescape is ok but they just keep ruining it.

 

i though this section of the website was made souley for runescape cheating not runescape spamming or talking about things you dont like with the game.. i mean get real people oooh and hows this suposed to help any one with runescape cheating. cause hell if it does i would love to know.

If you break one of Jagex's many rules, that's "cheating". A discussion of banning, muting, appealing, etc., is a discussion of the way Jagex handles cheating and possible ways to get around it.

 

I really hope someone finds a way to exploit appeals. Like someone said I think it's keywords that trigger the bot.

 

100% tru every time i appeal they say im sorry but u were in possesion of acc.. wtf they dont even read appeals and deny it
