Really? This was what's in place for a Halloween event?

I thought the reason they allegedly stopped doing Halloween events is because they wanted to make more worthwhile and everlasting content?

How does this follow that ideology? I understand 07 has an event, and I did it. Guess I'm just disappointed there wasn't an event this year.

It'll sting worse when there's no Christmas event.

Holiday events are a waste of development time. There is just too much to do for a short event. Players get mad when the events are shit and start complaining like they always do. I would stop making them too if the feedback was always negative because of it's duration, story or reward. Too many whiners in the community. My favorite event is the 2010 holiday event.

 

People that didn't like events could just, you know, not do them. And that's not a true assertion. Going by that way of thinking, they'd have scrapped EoC!! Cuz I see so much negativity and animosity towards it!
Might as well add Holiday events still...90 percent of RS 3 = Dead Content. At least Holiday Events would be utilized content, unlike 90 percent of Runescape. :laugh:

Edit : as per your other thread I see you're anti-eoc, something I did not think at first. Thought you were one of the EoC fanatics. I tried to get into EoC, I really did. But then you see there's literally nothing to do in the game anymore and that end game content is pointless because it's just a big single player game now essentially. If they had at least kept events, I could do that with friends and have a good stress-free time. I don't like how Jagex feels the need to change everything. Everything takes development time..if development time was such a problem they never would have let RS 07 be recreated...cuz that's development time too.

 

They should go back to simple events that reward you with tradable items, that 10 years down the line will be considered rare.

Doesn't consume too many resources to produce a item, with possible colour variations or a couple of items. Then add some minor way of obtaining said item, relating to the holiday.

 

Jagex said they don't want to implement rares in the game. Ironically fish masks were introduced as a rare.

 

the last good one was 3/4 years ago. they've run out of shitty things to give away. I haven't done one in a good few years.

 

I do it just for the xp lamp it takes a few minutes and the screen is barely visible but it's worth it.

This is a nice perk. Last night we got double lamps from building the Memorial. Free 64k exp for ~5 mins of work.

 

Does it matter what level you are? Like is the XP flat or is it based on level?

 

I've not done one in years, but I've heard this one is good xp so I might have to have a gander.

 

Extreme lag can't even walk past it without having 10 second lag spikes and believe me I've tried.

Also half of the screen is blocked by their interface.

So I'm not doing it.

 

Rewards don't make up for the hassle, and it's not the DDOS attacks either because it affect everyone in the world not just one area.
