I've opened up Matt's SytheFlat theme

No one cares about Staff online... user thingies should be colored.

Anyways, what we made on BA was a toggle option located in user settings that would enable a vertical or horizontal userbit / postbit whatever. That's an option that could please both sides. But as it stands, the vertical layout has a horrendous amount of blank space.

 

Miniranks don't fit with this theme. I wouldn't mind a complete removal of showing miniranks on this theme since it's only superficial.

Postbit: I think that sythe works best with horizontal postbits. The problem is that a vertical postbit won't be able to display the ranks/miniranks on sythe properly and whenever someone posts that has too many ranks it creates this huge empty space: Screenshot
Colors: For the most part they're okay but they could be tweaked a bit. Specifically the post background color could be made slightly darker, I think that #505050 is too light.
Sidebar: New posts should be displayed first, Profile posts second, and online staff third imo. Online members takes up too much space and should be moved to the bottom of the page.

Critique


1. The placement of the mini-ranks are horrible. I believe the giant blank space below each post is because of them, which I assume to be fixed with the mini-ranks.

2. The grey should be lighter, it's blending in way too much on certain sections. An example will be provided below.


3. The blue could be a slight brighter on the "like" post. Actually, it could be brighter on all of the hashtags and places around the forum. My suggestion is to match the background blue color of the section headers on the main page.


4. The orange RSS feed icons on the front page lead to errors.


5. Could stickies have a slightly different background color than normal topics?



6. The standardized icons on the main page could be changed to match the original theme, instead of blue chat bubbles.

7. I've been browsing Xenforo dark themes ever since I heard about the change. If I were to make recommendations on alternative themes that I believe would be better suited for the forum, would they be taken under consideration or is this the one we're sticking with for now?

 

The dark/navy blue tones sort of clash with the dominant black/grey color scheme.

Also like johnny boi said, it looks like forum korner.

You don't want to be like forum korner, that shit was gayer than laptop.

Forum Korner was literal aids and made me quit forums for a while.

Lame and I are permed on FK and lime is on the list of users that aren't allowed to even pardon. That site was only a meme because of how awful / dead it is.

 

Notifications button keeps appearing on top of my name on mobile sometimes so I can't click it

I don't want this idea to die; I honestly want to see an appealing dark theme for the site. I spent the past few hours searching all of the premium dark themes for Xenforo and decided that the only two attractive skins are Quark and that Matthew has setup now. I mentioned a lot of the faults with the theme right now, but I think that Quark might be a much better option.

Would you be willing to setup: Quark for XenForo by Audentio Design

I'll pay for the premium theme by donating to one of you directly $30 to pay for it. If it cost any extra fees, I'll cover it to a certain point. The only problem that I noticed it doesn't solve is having the user's information on the left side of each post instead of above the post. I'm not sure if they have a customization option to change that, I sent them an email asking. I'll pay for a graphic design to come up with a logo to match the theme if required too.

Yo I love this theme. No bs. Looks good. Good change up. Been sick of that ugg-ass different shades of dark blue theme for years now.

Just needs a couple tweaks though. The announcements being in this huge mint green box for starters needs to go.

 

Not gonna be using it I'll stick to legacy.

 

Can we PLEASE get a white/grey or white/blue version of this theme?
Would really be much appreciated.
