Cant believe it

Was unable to use Sythe for over a week because staff couldn't remove the 2FA.

Sent a recovery plus talked to Gov.

There's got to be a way to remove 2FA if you lost access to logged browsers and your phone.

 

Pretty sure when you activate it it gives you a code to over ride the 2FA if you ever get locked out

 

Yeah - keep the big code safe as instructed ;P This is the only way to get it removed otherwise - other staff don't have and shouldn't have access to, for example, SVU number and so on.

 

they need to improve the recovery system all togerther i think.

 

Well I don't believe it should be made any easier. Its whole purpose is to significantly increase the security of your account(s). Users just need to ensure they document the mentioned code, so in the event that they do lose access to their devices, they have an easy route to take.

Doesn't it say to write it down? ie not type it? Speaking off, time for me to remove 2FA and get a new code, the old one has been heated off the paper it's on.

 

I was in a similar position to you earlier in the week. It's fine how it is, if you've lost the code it's your own fault really. For some reason my 2F fucked up and wasn't working when I typed in the code, Roary let me know about the big long code, job done.

It also says like write it down or keep it separate or something similar, I'd advise that..

 

Clearly says to write the code down, not that difficult. Dont keep it on your pc, might as well be mass spamming it on skype if you do that.

Yeah maybe if you're PC is that vulnerable. If so, might wanna fix that.

Why is the code so long anyway? I mean, it's like 32 characters long. I had to retype it in last week for some reason and I kept fucking up. Got annoying real fast.
