As long as humans exist, there will be different ideas.
As long as there are different ideas, there will be conflict.
Conflict directly prevents world peace.

Essentially, world peace requires every single person on the planet to be on the exact same wavelength, adhering to the exact same idea, all the time.

Thoughts?

i think as long as humans exist like you said there will be too many problems. can't control us all, everyone wants something

They say money is the root of all evil.

Money is a linear source that doesn't deviate from it's purpose. Greed is more abroad as it doesn't solely pertain to currency. There are a lot of factors that can account to the inseparable nature of humans that cause territorial instincts. It's the same boundary that is connected to us psychologically. It basically means if you trespass my home, you're the enemy. Unfortunately for us, as long as there is man, there will be war. It is indeed impossible to assume people of many different cultures will see eye to eye. To do this you must accept the person through mutual understandings. The idea is blockaded by religion.

The idea is not only blockaded by religion, but by culture, race, gender, beliefs, opinions... conflict and difference are inherent constructs of human nature.

This does not mean I think working towards world peace is a futile effort per se, because the closer we get the more unified the human race will be as a whole. However I think the end goal is a bit unrealistic for the time being.

Perhaps one day we will understand the futility of war and turn our military expenditures (billions and billions per year) towards world hunger, poverty, disease, deep sea exploration, space exploration, and so on. As much as it pains me to say this I believe that day is not in the near future.

Change the education system -> change the world.

We need to start making advancements in the field of morals. We have had all sort of scietific advancements but when it comes to morals then we are pretty much at the same state as we were a few hundred years ago.

The problem is pretty much the same as it is with the political system. The ruling/privileged class don't want it to change.

No. You can hamper on about greed and income gaps all you like but for me religion is the biggest wedge in peace theory, and its existence has not only resulted in the most deaths in human history but breeds hate and intolerance across the globe, and has done for thousands of years.

There will never, ever, be a point where world peace and religion co-exist.

I would argue that goverments have killed more people than religion. But I agree that we can't have something rational such as world peace when we have a thing called religion where everything is possible without proof

Nah, religion holds the title.

If you think as far back as ancient Egypt every period of war/mass genocide has a central theme of religion. This includes ancient Greece, the crusades, the inquisitions, European wars, the Stallan purge of russia etc. Last time I checked, I think the figure went above 100 million.

Religion alone is not enough to kill someone. For that you need force and that's where the government comes in. It's same as you giving a gun to a person who is saying that he will kill his wife/husband. You are enabling him by giving him the gun and would be charged accordingly. It's same with governments, they enable people to kill eachother for religion. The main blame here is on governments. A few examples:

Morality is a man made concept, influenced, and magnified by religion. Each culture has their own set of morals. Are you implying that the morale within each culture/sub-culture needs improvement? How do you improve a concept that is imprinted within a culture, without drastically changing the culture? You can't. Religion controls politics. It is undoubtedly the most effective form of psychological suppression to control a mass. But is that necessarily a bad thing?

World peace is a farce.

It'll NEVER hapoen. Entertaining the idea isn't just farfetched (s/o pokemans) its stupid.

not impossible, just nobody has the intelligence/care/patience/discipline to enact a certain set of actions simultaneously that would produce it.

treat your children well, they're pretty much the only hope of that idea coming to life.

I'd say its possible, if the entire world were to legalize cannabis, since cannabis smokers = pacifists.

I believe thats the only way since religion etc causes disagreement, and disagreement = war

Ofcs a lie is a bad thing. The whole idea of a "moral" god is fundamentally stupid. A god would not need to be moral since he is a god that can change/control everything, so why should he even be "moral". I don't understand why you think that univeral morals must be related to a god/culture. We all understand that rape is wrong or that slavery is wrong. How is that related to a god (if not mistaking then most religions were okay with slaves)?

All we kinda need are 2 things:
1) Respect against private property.
2) Stop using force/violence to achieve a goal.

If we had those 2 things then this would would be pretty much perfect.

With the current context, world peace is impossible.

Power itself gives a tremendous amount of ego in each country's government. With this, taking control over of something is always in mind and hence, peace is not doable.

It is not impossible to have world peace, that only happens if countries start to get together and discuss the possible solution to each and every problem.

Never, humans are to greedy, we will soon be all under 1 order, we are slowly being controlled more and more.
