Is this a glitch or what?

It happens to me when I'm using mage. If you click to use a mage spell it will be autocasting. and once you change your weapon it will automatically go onto defence. I noticed this while doing barrows. To test it. Use like fire bolt on a random npc then change your weapons and try and attack straight after. Your attack style will have changed to defensive.
