is there ever gonna be another double xp week?

my friend said they might have one soon but i think he is just bs so what are your thoughts? do u think there is gonan be another one?

cause i wanna get 99 magic once and for all

 

well theres no knowing for sure when its going to be, but judging by how the last one went i think jagex will probably do it again.
Yea i doubt your friend know so hes probably Bsing.

 

Maybe... But I don't want one because everyone just levels up fast and it's unfair for the players who got the levels legit (or should I say, through the usual game mechanism).

 

I believe in an article they confirmed that they definitely wanted to hold another double exp weekend and other events similar to it as well - I can't find it on the RS forums for the life of me though... Hopefully another Sythe member is able to fish it up.

 

Yes , Jagex said themself that It went so good with the first XP weekend that they might do 1 again. But not soon after the first 1.

You had 10 hours of gametime with 2x exp, as you played the exp slowed down until finally at 10 hours you were back to normal exp. You could spread the 10 hours as you wanted over the weekend.

I remember reading they were going to hold another one after the success of the first one.

There will be one, but not in the near future. I think they will make it annually because it screws up the economy and makes hard 99's such as herblore and summoning 2x easier to get.

You only get 2x experience for 10 hours, not even that actually because it goes down every hour. It doesn't screw up the economy, but it does affect it. It also doesn't make these skills go much easier to get. Herblore isn't a slow skill, it's just costly. Summoning gets like what? 50k exp/hour using the best supplies? 100k experience for 10 hours is only 1M experience. It's not gonna screw up runescape at all, so I hope to see it at least 3 times a year.

Quarterly bonus experience weekends would be ideal.

There was an article on the Runescape Forums confirming the possibility of an upcoming bonus weekend. Hopefully, Jagex has learned from the last one. If they are to the bonus weekend again the preparation time should be shortened.

 

Actually it starts out at 2.7x and decreases hourly. Exactly that's the point that herblore is costly and summoning is labor intensive. If they have this 3/4 times a year people will save up their supplies and instead of 99 herblore costing 400m, itll cost 200m. Thus, you will seee many more herblore capes running around and jagex would feel that this would take away the "greatness" of that cape. Similarly with summoning, you will end up collecting half of what 99 really takes and those people who got 99 legitly would feel that its unfair to them. That's why they can't have it so often. If I paid 400m for 99 herblore I'd be pissed to if someone got the same cape for only 200m.

edit: I got 60-72 summoning on my main the day double xp weekend cape out and only played 2.5hrs or so. Summoning is super fast xp with the charms.

 

Summoning is more along the lines of 1M EXP/h with blue charms at mid level.

 

nobody has thousands of blue charms sitting around. However crims are easily 400-500k exp an hour.

 

I think jagex said after the weekend that they will be doing more of these xp weekends in the future so yea ther should be more coming soon
