No, I am not missing the point. A fool could see that it is possible to physically do two things at once, everybody in this thread knows this. That is not what this thread is about. The human brain cannot efficiently process two things at once, i.e. one cannot at the cognitive level "multitask".

What i think multi tasking is:

Willingly doing 2 or more things at the same time.

    example:
Running and Talking on the phone
    (cant think of any more)

basicly YOU have to be doing both actions. Listening to music and playing a game is not multitasking.

Texting and driving is multitasking. many people fail at it. i do not support doing this, i am 100% against it.

    Wrong,

Quoted :The documentary said that it really isn't possible to use and talk on a cell phone while being able to drive at the same time. All you're really doing is quickly switching tasks.

I see no words about Multi-task not being possible at the cognitive level, only that it really isn't possible to use and talk on a cell phone while being able to drive at the same time, hence, Generally meaning, it is done Physically.

    End of thread. You FAILED.

    Once again, missing the point.

We are multitasking at the same level efficiently.

We are all posting a post and at the same time and disproving your statement or theory.

I call that your computer multi-tasking...................... unless you're doing each of these tasks at the exact same time with all your 4 of hands... and you've somehow managed to install and operate four different mouses (mice?) onto one computer at the same time...

Otherwise, I would wager, you're going to frostwire/limewire or whatever works nows, choosing songs, downloading, switching screens, going to sythe to post your message, and switching screens again and going to play runescape. You yourself are not truly multitasking.

I do believe it's possible though. I can type while talking to people (I can even type, talk, and watching something other than the keyboard or the computer screen). I can comprehend questions and write answers while reading a text book.

However, there's got to be a limit. One task is more than likely getting a much much greater percentage of your conscious attention than another task you're trying to do at the same time. When I'm talking to someone and trying to work, it's either I'm getting my work done, and having to ask my friend to repeat what they say often or have to take a while before I can reply, OR I'm paying attention to our conversation and only half-assing my school work.

    Look at some musicians;

They play guitar and sing as lead vocalist [Green Day for example]

    I'm certain that's mult-tasking ;)
