Yeh it's to protect them against chargebacks, most if not all gold sites/big gold sellers will request ID.

 

It's generally safe. The procedure is done to combat fraud as there are high volumes of that in this market. If you're uncomfortable giving out that much information, the website in my signature doesn't require you show everything on your ID if you want to buy an excess amount of gold. Good luck!

 

I wouldn't give it to a random person but i would think Bogla is generally safe. If you don't trust them then use BTC or something?

 

Of you don't want to show ID, just buy some bitcoins and pay with that. You get a better price, save due to fees and not need to show any ID.

I would personally not give my ID anywhere online. Not because the company isn't trustworthy, but because of others that could potentially hijack the information and use it maliciously.

I wouldn't just give my ID to any user, but I've been using Bogla for about a year now, so I would trust to use it with them.

 

@Moes A watermark on an ID wouldn't be accepted by most gold sites, mine included.

The only information we allow to be hidden is drivers license #, the rest is VERY important to us via anti fraud.

Same situation with cards, we have a couple hundred unedited cards on file at this point(ikr everyone panic), but we allow people to cover up everything but last 4 if they ask if they can.

The tl;dr is, if you don't trust that gold site to keep ur ID and card secure, u probably shouldn't be spending money with them in the first place, that's honestly the best policy someone can go by in my opinon, do your research, google sites and skypes, browse popular forums(sythe,osbot,powerbot) etc and find whos legitimate.

At the end of the day though OP, its just a judgement call by you.

 

These places make way too much money to care about your bank account for the most part tbh. Keep your money in your bank and not your paypal, and you're safe. Most banks cover you if your info is stolen.

 

I would never give someone a copy of my ID online (It will never be fully secure regardless of who you give it to), but Bogla is probably one of the more trustworthy people out there if you're willing to provide ID.

Definitely hide your id number, but im siding with Plan buk here your best off buying btc and using that.

 

My money's been spent states away 3 times. Couple hundred dollars each time. Every time my bank has reimbursed me. Not sure about if the person got charged or not.
