Yea it happends. He probably used close to no fee which makes the transaction take a long time.

Yea nothing is showing up yet. Did the guy really send the money? In my experience it shouldnt take 2 hours for it to just show up as being processed.

Ask him to send a screenshot of the money being sent. Shouldnt be too much of a hassle for the other party.

Unless you cut out the address manually, it doesnt show the address which the BTC have been sent to though. Just shows BTC being sent but it could have been sent to any address.

 

I do know that if you use coinbase to send it might take a bit longer then usual, last time I sent a transaction using it a few days ago it took about 4-5 hours for just 2-3 confirmations

 

If the fee is too low, and/or sent on a bad day (that one day there payments bounced back or took days), or even the payment he received before sending it to you had low fees and haven't confirmed then it could take a while. By a while I mean it could take days. Just because it shows up as pending, does not mean it is yours yet. It's always best to wait for 1 confirmation, and encouraged the fees is increased by a tiny bit to possibly speed things up significantly and save both parties a lot of time.

Oops, meant it as generally and realized it didn't help your case. Anyway it either means it's going very slow, I've had experiences where someone claimed it didn't show up as pending, was generally a messy situation in terms of trying to find an explanation. I believe it ended up showing but didn't take as long. You were either scammed or it's one of those odd things and it's going really slow.
