Is GimpShop a Good Graphic Program to do graphics

^ says it all looking for some good feedback, if not where should i start ? Or what program should i start with ?

 

Gimp is alright but ideally you'd want to start with Photoshop. At first it will be overwhelming but if you are wanting to get into graphics you should ideally start and continue with photoshop.

 

What sort of Graphic Work do you want to get into?

I recommend Photoshop, it works wonders.

 

Gimp is awesome to begin graphics with. I really recommend it as it is what I started out with ^_^ If you don't want to be lost using Photoshop as a beginner then definitely get Gimp. Cheers mate.

 

I used Gimp before I started using Photoshop and it was actually pretty decent to start off with, I recommend you to start off using Gimp as it's a nice program to start off with.

GIMP's interface is horrible and will make the transition to Photoshop more difficult. I'd recommend diving straight into Photoshop.

 

Well I did a bit a research and it seems that Photoshop is far more complicated but I made a few images and I'm comparing a little bit of the pictures and it seems that Photoshop as a little more quality but it's gonna take me a lot longer to learn so yet Photoshop it is thank you for all your feedback this thread can now be close thanks

 

I think the OP was actually talking about GIMPShop though, not GIMP itself. GIMPShop is basically GIMP but designed to look like Photoshop. reference: http://www.gimpshop.com/

The GIMP was how I started out on graphics, and I can't really say that I was worse off as far as my skill level in photoshop after I made the switch because of it. I would say, therefore, that it's a great tool for you to start out with, but you SHOULD eventually move to photoshop. GIMP is very constricted as far as what you can do. Photoshop is much more versatile, and there are more plugins offered.
