Is College Becoming Obsolete?

As others have said, college is necessary for obtaining white collar jobs, so it is certainly practically necessary. From an educational standpoint, college is very important in terms of not only gaining knowledge your specific focus (major), but also learning how to write, communicate, and understand (liberal arts).

I think it's too expensive, especially for "business" courses. The whole aspect of business is a joke. It's not challenging at all and CEO's get paid way too much for the little they contribute to society.

I take it you haven't actually studied particles of economics.

As a member of a management faculty, you don't know how insinuating it sounds when someone clueless decides to "chime" their opinion in such a degrading way.

"Business" courses aren't as easy as you think they are. Being able to project markets and estimate overhead doesn't mean you're Vanderbilt.

What simplified articles have you read that simplify a CEO's task to such an extent? If you think it's so simple to realign a business, I invite you to enter the field of entrepreneurial work. I'd like to play devil's advocate and point out a 2 year pharmacy and general-care can land you a position of a tenured family doctor collecting ~150,000 annual and a government instituted pension.
