Here's the thing. The SEC is currently reviewing filings for Bitcoin to become a legitimate financial investment through ETFs. It failed the 1st time, but it is currently being reevaluated. Here's the catch though, the SEC is also reviewing filings for Ethereum ETFs and has already made numerous statements hinting that Ethereum is ready for primetime more so than Bitcoin.

If BTC gets rejected a 2nd time, which is a relatively probable outcome, and ETH gets approved, we can all expect to see a lot of sell pressure coming from BTC (and likely a prolonged bear market) as a paradigm shift takes place.

This is all speculation of course, but one needs to be prepared for all scenarios. I hold some BTC due to sentimental value to be honest, not as an investment.

 

I rarely trade crypto. I'm an investor. That being said, I've stated numerous times in the past that I don't believe BTC will have a grand future like some folks think it will. It may hit 4, 5k due to FOMO, who knows, but the long term prospect isn't too bright. There is just too much innovation happening in blockchain technology.

Best analogy I can give you for BTC: I see it going the way of America Online. Once one of the largest ISPs, now a former shell of itself as a company due to lack of innovation. First mover advantage is never a guarantee to holding market share. In fact, it makes it a (very) lucrative target to take down.
