IRC: We're moving

My plan when starting this was to get and try to get this IRC officially.
I wouldn't mind coding custom stuff like a link with the sythe user DB or anything.

This could turn out really big and fun for the entire community.
But yeh we'll see what happens now i guess, to the ones still supporting me, I won't forget u

The way I see it we have 3 options:

1. We reach out to people on sythe via serious threads to donate to cookiezzz who has been running his sever at no cost us, and ignore karl's incessant pleading that his bff syed is uber legit.

2.ignore the fact that syed was just recently unbanned, is an arrogant troll, that he is in grave's pocket, and that he could easily cause harm to anyone who used his irc if he felt like it, and switch to his.

3. Find someone who isn't so damn shady and use their server.

2. whilst we're there lets ignore you due to you being so butthurt because he's made some comments to you about wanting mod on IRC, you're too biased to make an informed, logical decision. Implying that syed would cause harm is just cute, especially considering I'd have server access therefore anything that could cause remote harm could be checked by me (so we KNOW that passwords are md5 encrypted, we KNOW that bad modules are not installed, we KNOW who are staff and what actions they do), you'd rather join a network with 20+ staff that could easily cause more damage due to us not knowing the set up of the network is better than choosing one we'd have control over?

3. The pot calling the kettle black, you've had a bad history too, lets not forget.

Cookiezzz, quite frankly I think you're coming at this the wrong way, as most people know I'm currently on vacation. When I offered my server, it was simply because I had no idea that you had a replacement server, I'd prefer if we stuck with the current servers, but lately I've been seeing this attitude with you, like you're sick with Sythe after this Lilly thing, that added with you wanting to dump the servers made me offer my server, nothing more. It's not like I want you out, if we do go my route, there will be more than just my server, there will be other staff member's servers linked, and other trusted people who would want to test-link will be available to do so.

This is not a me vs. you. If you want to stick with the current servers then more power to you, I just don't think we should move to a server with 23 opers, that leaves a ton of room for abuse. If we do go with my servers, you'll get network admin.

I voted cookiezzz' irc. It's been consistently stable with near perfect uptime. I voted against syed's because you said it would be a project and experience dictates that consistent drastic changes to a project site loses activity quickly amidst downtimes, maintenance, and unfavorable features

Cuz im having some IRL issues, and honestly, i wasn't in IRC for quite a while, cuz i'm busy setting up what has to become one of the biggest game specific community's online so i honestly fail to see how "lately" applys to this.

I am not butt hurt over anything syed has said to me, I just can't stand how him, kenpen, and grave act like they own sythe.org. Plus Syed and you are butt buddies so nothing you say is any less bias.

I'd like to cut down on do.ka cuz she's unstable as hell.
So if someone else would link a server (pref a trusted person) that would be just perfect.

 

Is it really that expensive? Excuse my lack of knowledge about an IRC server. Seems to me hosting a bunch of text can't be too expensive
