If it can out benchmark chrome/firefox I'd be really impressed.

So far though it seems like re-branding with a gui change and extensions.

Thank god this shitty browser is finally getting axed. Should have happened 5 years ago.

I've used nothing but IE and had no issues with my choice. It's what I was brought up on. But I also run it on a SSD, cached to a Ramdisk. So honestly, there is NO difference in browser speed for me because theyre all blisteringly fast due to how I'm set up.

I don't mind that they're killing it off though. To me, a browser is a browser. I'll likely use Spartan if it's a seamless transition. Or I'll use chrome. Or opera. Or something. I really don't stress it that much.

Nobody is seeing this from a business point of view. This will hurt many businesses that have applications designed solely for IE. Good luck thought.

Internet Explore has always sucked! It's never been up to par with web standards (it's always been about 3 - 4 years behind). Our guess is that the new browser from MS will be the same thing with a new look...

They should have re-branded long ago. Even if they made a browser that surpassed google chrome and firefox under internet explorer, it still wouldn't be used just because it's IE.

It's funny how widely used Windows is yet their browser has always been thrashed by ridicule. A name like Spartan really does make a statement; if it doesn't live up to the name it's gunna be mega embarrassing.
