What is your full name?
My full name is Joseph Madding
Why did you join sythe?
I actually joined RuneCMS before Sythe.org existed to work on Runescape Classic scripting for bots. I joined Sythe.org later in an attempt to stop some controversial attacks on another forum I moderated at the time.
RuneCMS you say, that was a good 5 years ago, Do you still keep in touch with your old buds? If so who.
Not really. The old users from RuneCMS have mostly gone off the grid. I believe only a few users like SMR, Matthew, and X9 have been here as long as I have.
I remember your name being SMI, what caused you to change your name?
Well, before "SMI," I was known as "She Mines It." That was my Runescape character at the time, so the name only made sense. As time went by, people more frequently believed I was a woman. In order to dispell the belief, I changed my name. I had to change it again to Vision Ex in order to finally quell the idea for good.
Name one thing in life that has changed it forever.
I once had a dream at the age of 5. The dream was about me, sitting in a park with a girl. At the time I was convinced this girl was to be the one person I would marry when I got older. I then after dedicated my life to figuring out how to be just as perfect as I could possibly be to a woman, for this ficticous person. She never came around, but I've always wanted to treat a lady right and that will never change.
I remember about a year ago you were on the fringes of becoming an admin, or close to it. Did it hurt knowing you just didn't get there?
I don't believe I was ever on the fringe of being an Admin. No matter how much I aspired for it, nor what I have done socially in the past, I don't believe my name has ever been at the top of that list of people. I wouldn't mind the responsibility, but it isn't my call on who would be the leader - I just watch them come and go.
As the days turn to years, have you given a thought about Quitting?
Oh, certainly. As a matter of fact, in the past I have "Quit" for short spurts, but ultimately I come to the Graphics area daily even when I say I'm gone, and someone finds out, and I get promoted to a Mod, or a Global, which is now a thing of the past. Now I'm the Team Lead, which feels just the same, and though I don't feel like quitting - Sometimes I feel like I can't motivate the people in my area enough to move them forward with the designs they do. Working and all, as I do, I can't get the proper help, either, to create tutorials and move them forward slowly.
When and if you ultimately do quit, what is one thing you want to be remembered for?What I would really like the be remembered for I know can't happen, because my generation is already gone from Sythe.org. I know that there really is no way to be remembered forever in the forums, so I'm really only concerned with right now, and how to help people as best I can
You have been called Inactive by at least one current member, how do you take the criticism?
I would actually agree. When I am called upon for an action that requires a lot of my time, I dedicate the time to do it. Right now, and as in the past, the graphics area can essentially moderate itself. As that is my responsibility, I still am only required to have to edit or infract a post once every other day. Making threads for SOTW largely is based on teamwork, and with the rest of My Moderation team out on injury, so he said, I have to work the SOTW around available time in real life. Working, Sleeping, Doing bills, laundry, dishes, etc., takes up many hours in my day, so there are days that I can only come on to check the Staff Lounge and browse for my forum's issues before heading off to bed.
Those of you who have my MSN address know that I can't always get back to you immediately, and in fact that is a rare occurance, but it is generally understood that I have a lot "on my plate," and I try to do what I can. If you ask me directly for any help, I always get back to you ASAP, over PM or MSN however.
Who is one user on Sythe.org you respect, and why?
Actively, I repect Matthew the most in our team. It seems to me like he tries his best to run the forums in his available time, just like myself. Though he doesn't always enjoy dealing with the issues, he does pay attention, and things ultimately get done. When refering to all-time users, however, I will have to go with TDD. No matter what either of us did, we always had great communication And worked well together. I wish him well in his life, and I'm sure he's off to do great things as he already has for his girl, in his work, and with his family.
What is one attribute you like and dislike in a person and why?
I like charisma in a person. With the right amount of confidence you can do anything in life. Charisma to the point of cockiness, however, I dislike. Thinking too highly of yourself usually leads to corruption, abuse, or other evils, which I hate more than anything.
What do you strive to ultimately achieve in your life?
My life's goal is to ultimately leave the woman I marry happy when she dies. I hope to be able to give her a good life, and be there with her to see the smile from our memories in her last breaths. It's what I've really always worked for, and if I get nothing else in my entire life, that is enough for me.
What is one thing in life you can't stand seeing?
A woman getting hurt. If you hit her, I'll show you what it's like to be a "real man."
If you could change one thing on Sythe.org, what would it be?
Too many people are "worried" about what they call E-Drama. If you understand that disputing is a natural part of life, and work for the solution, we could accept the idea of this "Drama," rather than trying to eliminate the drama and still continue the disputes - But with some progress at the end of each.
