Threatening someone over text message?

Recently my friend bought an iPhone off Craigslist (told him it was a bad idea) and it eventually broke 2 days later. He then sent this text message to the seller of the iPhone


Your a bitch and I promise I will kill you You pussy


How much trouble could he get in for this

Depends how serious the police in your area take death threats.

 

Not a lot of trouble, he'll probably get in more trouble for the improper use of "your" and blatant disregard for punctuation.

The guy could press charges, but would end up spending more money on court than he'd get out of something so insignificant.

 

The seller shouldn't bother replying to that idiot, nothing should happen.

 

Actually he wouldn't have to spend any money. This wouldn't be a civil matter, death threats are a criminal matter and therefore the state would bear the burden of costs. Besides maybe missing work or something.

Most police take death threats serious. Tell your friend to not be a little bitch and threaten people.

 

ew craigslists haha..only ever bought used phones from eBay personally, but anyway, i dont think he has much to worry about, but your friend shouldnt be such a dyke
