Interested in purchasing an account please help.

Ok, so basically I am interested in purchasing a good main account. However I do have some strong concerns and questions which I was hoping the good members of this forum could help alleviate/answer. I have had a very bad and humbling experience which left me in utter consternation when purchasing runescape accounts.

I bought a level 135 off Gold4RS (My first big mistake) without really looking into how account transactions can be secured and what to be cautious of. Needless to say I had a 500 dollar learning experience and became a more skeptical buyer as a result. So it wasn't all bad I try to be optimistic. I Digress though. My questions are as follows:

1. Is purchasing an account ever 100% safe?

2. If I am buying an account how do I want to go about doing this to ensure I do not get scammed.

3. Even if I am given all correct information including original IP address the account can always, in theory be recovered by the OO correct?

4. When buying an account the buyer is taking a large risk because virtual goods are not covered by paypal. So how does one bypass this problem to ensure as a buyer they do not get stuck paying for some jerkoffs own stuff.

5. Anything else I should/need to know about account buying and selling would be greatly appreciated. If anyone can link to some guides or related material pertaining to my question I would be sincerely grateful, thank you.

1.a way to almost 100% ensure u dont get scammed is check out the "Report Scammers" section at the end of the Home Page. I always go there after i check my threads so see if there is any familiar Sythe names/MSNs.
2.Then always offer to use an OMM even if you pay fees it is WORTH IT. i spent $5 and got saved from being scammed $30! So would u rather give up $5 or $30?
3.Then doesnt matter how annoying they feel it is, ASK FOR PROOF! for example: proof of stats, recovs/email, meet in game, etc.
4. There really is no 100% way to prevent from seller recovering account if they have all ORIGINAL information, if they do and they provide u with that information during trade it will be a back and forth war between recovering account, then soon it will be locked. If this happens your best bet would be to report that user so that the situation does no happen again.

 

1. Purshasing an account from anyone is never 100% safe. Depending on who it is, the percentage will go higher than usaul.

2. Using an OMM is good for big trades, however you can avoid that by buying off trusted guys with legit vouchs/MODS/Ranks etc

3.Yes which is why even if he gives you everything, as long as he still lives in the same place, he can recover it. Which leads back to #1, account buying is never safe.

4.# 2, Use a OMM if its a shady character. Next I would not suggest buying accounts from newcomers, guys with little to no vouchs people who dont contribute much. Why? Because they could leave and recover the account anytime.

Thats all i can say. I do not suggest buying an account at all. However try and find guys with 100+ vouchs, Mods, UEs/high donors.

 

Dg4l pretty much covered everything. There always a chance that you can get scammed, just use an OMM and always buy from a trusted seller. If you feel you have any other questions which have not been answered don't hesitate to ask me, I'll answer as soon as possible.

 

I agree with you, pretty much said what i said, but i dont agree with your last paragraph. Ive bought a couple accounts and were legit and safe, MM and OMM used. So i dont suggest NEVER buying accounts. As for people with 100+ vouches yes i agree it is much safer with them, but there not the only ones. I have very few vouches, but i try to contribute as much as i can. i have a quest/torso service, selling accounts, free MM'ing [trying to become OMM] so I would say just get to check out the guys account a little bit first then make your decision.

 

Ok guys thank you very much for all your help. I think I am just going to go the safe route and bot a main. It will take a year or two but it's probably a lot safer and less costly in the long run.

I do have another question that is slightly off topic from the one I posted.

When I purchased the runescape account from G4RS I had it for roughly 6 months before it was recovered... After it was recovered I made sure the account was locked.

I do believe I have genuine original information that was used in creation of the account because. I and the person who was recovering the account were engaged in a recovery war until the account was ultimately locked. Is it possible to ever get the account unlocked? The account is still registered under my e-mail however I believe the recoveries are now different. I had around 500m on the account and if it is still there I would love to wipe the account on Jan 1st onto my pure.

 

Yes there is a high chance it will get unlocked, I got the same account locked twice since I had a problem with someone and as I was the original owner with the original information It got unlocked. You should try unlocking it definitely.

Edit: Im not sure if you should just bot a main. It will take +5 months to bot a good one, IF you dont get caught. You can always buy an account for let's say 300$ from a very trusted member such as PLZNATE,HAHANERD,etc... Which would be way faster and the main you would bot could get banned which means you wasted lots of time. In the time it takes you to bot a main you can easily make back the 300$ you could loose. And you won't loose them if you buy from a good seller. Conclusion: buy a main.

 

Umm try appealing it and explaining the story in your favor, like oh someone hacked me and got my recovs and info so we keep going back and forth recovering. can i please have full control of account...and so on. try that. as for going the "safer" way and botting. I HIGHLY DISAGREE! when they bring out free trade, there mass-banning all botters, and they will be on the lookout for other botters after update. So BE VERY CAREFUL BOTTING, i would say babysit it. But legit is much better. I botted 2-3 times on my acc, and now im crapping bricks hoping it doesnt get banned cuz i worked on it for years.

 

Alright I definitely will, I am not the OO of the account but it seems the OO or whoever was recovering with me has either given up or done something.. because it has been locked for several months now.

What should I say though, I do have a lot of good info I guess I will just have file a recovery and wait and see what happens I will definitely do so on Jan 1st.


AS far as mass banning goes do you believe they have new detection methods or would it be just a delayed ban? Followed up by perhaps more zealous investigations of botters? Do you think botting is detectable I use reflection bots from RSB.net and I hope they are not already detected because if so my nearly maxed pure is gone for sure lol.

Well you don't necessarily need to give any info or anything, as long as the information is correct it will be unlocked. Assuming the other guy didn't already unlock it.

There might be a chance of being banned botting since it might be true that they have a new system, we never know. I have botted my main which is now maxed and has over 4 99s in combat skills and as you can see I have been in RS for long, even way before my join date. Take my advice if it counts for anything: don't bot now, with all the havoc of free trade probably lots of botting will occur to acquire and sell gold so that means jagex will have already prevented this so they sure have something under their sleeve (they always do). Buy an account, ateast for now. It will be safer, trust me.

- Yep, easily.

- There is no bypass, most of the accounts get recovered eventually anyway for whatever reason.

Buying accounts is never 100% safe. The original owner can recover the account at any given time they would like to. I suggest even botting your own account instead.

From my own experiences and stuff I believe 9/10 accounts are recovered eventually, even if you buy them from 'trusted' sellers and get all account information.

 

It's really that high hey? =/ Well I have to think about it I already made 1 costly mistake I don't want to make another. Anyone else think it's a bad idea to buy an account? Lol I don't want to get ripped off.
