If this has been suggested before, please just kick my ass.

Basically after browsing the forum I came to the conclusion that buyers have no security on the free market, which is what it is, a free market. I saw that @Wortel came up with the suggestion that donations could possibly be used towards helping the victims. Sadly, that isn't viable.

But, why not have a different set of bond holders that are MOD/Admins? You could have an insurance bond, for example, @Realist (purely an example) could pay @Wortel $100 BTC/LTC/Crypto's (irreversible or bannable funds) - he would then have a small icon/addition to the right hand side (where it says referrals, location etc) that states he has a $100 bond available to him as insurance.

I feel this would be ideal for people, especially ones doing services that are expensive, i.e 94 magic, construction, prayer. Naturally you would trust that someone with $100 worth of BTC invested into a bond that they wouldn't be inclined to scam your 50m in supplies, and even if they did, with the correct proof you could claim that back.

Just a suggestion, I know you guys already do so much so to add another layer of work could be an issue.

It's also occurred to me that mini-ranks, if banned, could be sold to cover costs. Assuming someone would take responsibility of selling them on.

@SellingRspsStuff Good suggestion, although it would never pass, it might be a lightweight savior for newer people to get some trades, but anything over $100 instantly becomes profit to a scammer, I assume that is the reason for this thread at least. So basically being said, this might help a newcomer seem safe, and gain some trust while having that bond on their name, but once they get trusted who is to say they don't get a $250 order, scam it and leave the site, the other person is down $150 bucks now because they trusted someone that seemed trustworthy, see my point? I would support this if there was a way to have people only trade under their bond amount but that would be ridiculous in the first place, so no support, sorry. @DesireX No it isn't on DNS list but I could see it being added.

 

Hi mate. The only argument I'd have to this is that someone could be ripped off $250 and not receive a penny back. At least with a bond, you could be insured to the amount of the bond - that's a choice you as a buyer would take. Also, it wouldn't be limited to $100 - I also see an issue with blockchain rates that would need to be ironed out, but basically there has to be a better way.

 

This sight is full of scamming cocksuckers, just leave them be. You will never get rid of them and they will always find a way to scam another person, keep on banning on. And sure it is the buyers choice, but if a seller looks trusted and has a weighting to them why should you have to worry about them screwing you over... it is just a terrible failsafe IMO.

 

Also, just to add, donations have the same effect that this bond would have, for example a guy comes online and donates $100, most people would immediately trust them to AT LEAST that value. At least this this way there can be some reprieve for the scam victims.

 

"Most people" are retards then, you can't trust a value with a value lol. You trust a vouch to a service, being the safeguard you have in place now. I'm a $300 donor but what stops me from having someone go first selling me 1b 07 and leaving $400 up lol... see my point? It isn't hard to be trusted if you actually use the site properly.

 

I've thought of suggesting this but assumed it has been tried and denied many times.

Reasons why it would fail
1) People offering services could easily take multiple orders at once over their insurance limit therefor nulling it (I'm taking care of (4) orders right now and am being trusted with well over 150m. If I wanted to, I could probably take +100m on top of the 150m I'm currently being trusted with.
2) I don't really like saying this myself, but "free" market needs stay active and that goes against it, putting others on a higher pedestal by simply "buying insurance".
3) Going back to point one, insurance would only truly be active if the person offering said services/gold takes ONE order at time, and we know when people scam quit they steal from 4-6 at once.

With that being said, this is an awesome suggestion in theory; however, serves nothing more than trying to donate and proving yourself through there.

 

Yeah, no. Took me many services to gain more and more trust and in addition to that some people are still super proactive around me when trading. They know that at any moment I can scam 4+ people at once with values over $100+.

Richard has told us before in the past nobody is allowed to recieve "deposits" on behalf of the website.


This has also been denied many times before in the past.

 

If someone needs to "hold" bonds or insurance money, chances are it won't end well. It would also be a pain in the ass to manage/deal with. Don't get me wrong, starting an insurance system sounds like a good idea. It can't be official though.

 

Maybe one of the big company's should branch out...

Although it is a great idea and would love for this to happen, it's way too much work for the staff team. However, if this were automated through the User Center, via bitcoin this would be cool.
