Increasing FPS in games.

To increase the FPS.
Do i need to increase my Ram? Or get a new Video Card.

Right now i have 512 MB of ram which sucks i know.
And i have a pretty crappy Vid Card... Intel (R) 82845G/GL/GE/PV/GV


Or would i need to upgrade both.

btw its 2.66GHZ processor.

Increasing any one of them will increase of fps, I'd suggest upgrading both of them... RAM is pretty cheap.

Yeah, actually buy a new computer altogether. Upgrading parts will cost you more in the long run.

u can get some ram from all4memory.com and for a video card u could go for a 8800 Ultra or so depending on how much $ your willing to spend, in the long run youd be better of buying a new pc or building one tho cus games r demanding better and better components to run.

Don't buy a 8800 GTX/Ultra, buy a 9800 orso, cheaper and better.

And yea, you should probably invest in a video card, and maybe 1 gig of ram.

Buying a video card will net a much bigger performance improvement although it is more expensive. I'd recommend buying a video card that costs around 160-200$ and then getting a 1GB stick of RAM which shouldn't be more than 40 or 50 bucks.

My Vid sucks too hard to be able to be overclocked.
It says it's locked.


I think i'll try getting 1GB or 2GB ram... cause it's pretty cheap.

Any suggestions on the type of VID CARD?
anyting between 100-200bux I wouldn't want to waste too much.


I also think i'll try the RAM first, then probably the VidCard.

Don't forget that turning down shading and definition in-game can result in higher FPS. In games like CS 1.6, only having 5-6 people playing can reduce the CPU needed to play the game.

Believe me i've tried.
Only thing left to do is upgrade.

Is an "Intel (R) 82845G/GL/GE/PV/GV" even a video card? It must be integrated into the CPU so no use trying to overclock

Do you have an available pci-e slot on your Motherboard? If not, you may want to just get a new computer..

Yeah cannot be overclocked.
And no i never bothered to actually look
