Not if you are oblivious to the fact that they have been scammed/sniped. How does the buyer know? The seller would keep it quiet. I put your question in the context of names as you were talking about gold, which isn't relevant to this case.

It's almost impossible to sell a name now that hasn't been sniped in the past. Also, if you did that, the name sales market would be dead.
