No, he has NOT asked me to post this.
I haven't spoken with him for 2weeks or so now.

But for his scam report, all the kid supplied was the pictures of his phone's msn.

How do we even KNOW the kid (who reported Jt) even had the 400mil on the account he gave to the hacker.

How do we know anything was even taken. If there was anything to be taken...?
I tried searching for the original scam report on him, but was unable to find it (Did it real quick)
If someone can find it, and post it. That would be helpful.


I'm just getting the feeling he was wrongfully banned.
If he gets banned for the proof that I remember seeing (Just pictures of someone giving the hacker a username and a password) then that is really screwed up.
Anyone can do that then... photoshop Punkerpunks msn in there, and have punkerpunk "buy" a blue phat and not pay. But the seller fails to show proof that the blue phat was even given, that is not admissible.


Yes. I do understand the "trade" was done through a cellphone. But sitll. Like I said a few times, how do we KNOW that anything was even stolen?

Do I believe that money was taken from the victim? Absolutely. Though there was no plausible evidence, I do genuinely believe that Rstrader was a victim to JT's hacker.

However, I also believe that how Rstrader went about making the deal in the first place was sketchy and unsafe. But, that of course holds no water because verification isn't required in the market.

It's one of those situations where the outcome is bad for both parties. While I feel sorry for Rstrader, I don't know if I would entitle him to a full refund for the simple fact that the evidence of the trade actually happening isn't too credible (I've never seen pictures of the account, either - But maybe this is being held private?).

In any case, I trust the staff's decision on this one. It's a tough situation, and I'm sure even FireZ would agree that there isn't much that can be done aside from refunding partial to full.
 
I see no proof that the gold was taken, and I see no proof that it wasn't taken. I just don't see enough evidence to ban firez.
He's been trying to contact rstrader for 2+ days, and rstrader isn't responding... which got me wondering about it all.

But then again, I'm no mod.
 
The scam report would not hold up in normal circumstances for lack of evidence, so not sure why it was given weight considering the report lacks basic "proofs" that would get it denied typically.
 
If there is no proof of the gold being there in the first place then no he should not have to refund and its done via a mobile phone which is not safe in its self. I say we have to leave it up to the staff though although I think that a Global/Admin should of dealt with the report or kero should of handed it to one of the upper staff to deal with the situation/problem in the first place since it is such a high profile situation.

Well, it's like I said, though it's safer trading this way - It isn't required.

As Plznate said, the lack of detail should have been an automatic deny, but that is technically the MSN Messenger client, just on an iPhone. It is quite obvious at the end of the conversation that a scam took place (Note the smile face after Rstrader confronts him about being 'the hacker').

If it were me, however, I would have logged on to the account and snagged the IP to see if it can be traced back to anyone. I'm sure it's too late for that now, though.

Unfair that firez has to give back 400m to a guy who did not ask for a pm it's like all OMM main rule do not trade without a PM
 
I have to agree with people above, even though the msn log clearly shows that he got scammed, we still cant be 100% sure since there are no trade screenshots. The case could be that he has the msn convo but the hacker didnt transfer the money out of the account and that this might be a way to get 400m of Firez for free.

This. Someone dropped the ball and now Firez has to pay the price. He should be unbanned and Rstrader should get nothing imo.

I believe theres a lack of evidence as well. this report should be looked at as if it's an ordinary scam report.
 
Stupid phone. What I meant was... why did rstrader say "lol hacker" as if he knew it was a hacker... and yea. All scam reports should be dealt with the same. I wouldn't allow the phone pics as proof, could be some fake program or something..?

My point is, it's not enough proof to ban jt and, if mods think it is, at least dig deeper in the situation.

The MSN that was being traded with was FireZ's MSN literally his entire career at Sythe. There was no reason to suspect it was hacked at that point. The PM rule has always been a bit of shit in my opinion because it's unofficial and new or inexperienced members won't ever think of doing it. If the MSN is in your profile, your signature, all of your threads, then why the hell would you ever suspect foul play? Keep in mind this was BEFORE the announcement was made, as far as I can tell.

As to how do we know the amount? We don't, but the hacker himself even said the amount after he had logged in. You think he lied about it to the hacker, and then the hacker lied about it back to him, just so that he can skim another 400m off of FireZ? Really? :huh:


Basically, you all are being so skeptical that only the most idiotic of all scammers will ever get banned by you. The rule is, has always been, and will always be that the trade needs to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. To me, it seems very reasonable to expect that this trade happened. Either rstrader is incredibly crafty... or he is incredibly stupid and had $400 stolen from him. I'm inclined to believe he is incredibly stupid.

Why do you all keep forgetting that the person most at fault here is FireZ for letting his MSN get hacked?

By all means, if you want me to prove scams happened beyond a shadow of a doubt, I can raise the standard a bit. Just expect to see a helluva lot more scammers on Sythe.
