    Immigration

I've been looking into some immigration statistics recently, some quick stats...
    • As of 2010, a quarter of the residents of the United States under 18 are immigrants or are immigrants' children.

    • Illegal immigration may be as high as 1,500,000 per year with a net of at least 700,000 illegal immigrants arriving every year.

    • The Census Bureau projects that by 2050, one-quarter of the population will be of Hispanic descent. (50 percent by 2100)

    • As at the 1990 U.S census, there were 19,767,316 foreign born people living in America.

    • New York has a foreign born population of over 5.117million.

    • 80% of total post-doctoral chemical and materials engineering in the United States are foreign-born (1988).

    Literally makes me go wow.
Do you guys think immigration is (or becoming) problematic? Should immigration reforms be taking place? There has been plenty of discussion in media in recent years about such things to do with immigration, laws, borders, asylum seekers, snakeheads, publicly known persons speaking out about it, etc. I've thought about and researched a lot to do with the topic..
    Whats your view on immigration?

Many people just think of the basic idea: They are coming here illegally, send them back to where they came from.

But a large proportion of maintenance, construction, fast food or any low quality jobs are filled with immigrants.

I don't think immigration is right but many people should think about the jobs, because many of them occupy jobs that many other people wouldn't want to take.

I don't like how most immigration debates like this always have somewhat of a racist undertone.

People feel endangered by these foreigners entering their country, but they forget that they themselves had to enter the States at some point.

I am completely against illegal immigration, but there's really nothing we can do with illegals currently here. I think amnesty should be granted to the current ones, but after that, enforce strict deportation rules and regulations. Finish the damn fence, and increase surveillance.

I'm well aware of the poverty, and all the economic problems going on (specifically Mexico), but SORRY, that's not good enough.

It's a damn national security risk to NOT know who is coming into our country.

The ability of the immigrants to live their lives successfully is tampering with your success? The US always talks about their liberties and freedoms, but also deny others the access to those same freedoms.
National security? There are more good willed people coming into the US than maleficent. The few that do get in, is your reason to let it rot the whole pot(immigration)?

I'm sure there are plenty of natural citizens who would be glad to have those jobs. Unemployment rates are pretty high right now.
