Image's Breaking!

Hey Guys! Recently I've been having a lot of my customers complaining about my images breaking, I'll drop an example below as to what I mean.



See the (IMG) This happens to a lot of my work on my thread and to people who've bought from me. I've also browsed around to see if any other artist is experiencing something similar and it seems like I'm not alone.

I felt like this was a cache error or something along those lines but I've cleared my cache and tried various other browsers but this seems to be an on going issue, am I the only one this is happening to? I have even switched where I upload my images but it still happens after a few weeks. I've double checked in case my links were having an expiry set to them but its on "NEVER EXPIRE" by default. Any suggestions?

99% sure it's the image host you're using, typically imgur is the best to host to use long term although most images will break eventually. It is just on you to have your finished work archived so if it breaks in the future you can fix it for a client.

 

What about the examples I posted above, are those artists using the wrong image host too? 2ndly on a few different browsers the broken images seem to be just fine while some others appear broken. Its pretty weird tbh =/

 

Imgur images will still break eventually but they last MUCH longer than hosts like imgBB.

 

okay i'll use imgur again but it used to compress my quality, and also do your images break? and images in general did not used to break for years (talking 2-3+)

 

I know what you mean by it compresses your quality for gifs, to fix when you link the image you just want to change the end of the URL from .gifv to a .gif . My images have broken using imgur but its usually at LEAST a year after and few and far between.

 

Yeah, its a bit annoying having to archive everything but it gets me off my lazy butt to update my thread with new designs at least lol.

 

Guess there's an upside to everything hah
