I had a dream of me playing da game and I met Zuna which was pretty funny lol. But srsly each time I play, it gets more addicting and I got studies too. So any ideas so I cant think about the game all the time? I still wanna play but don't want to think about it all the time especially that I had a dream of it

My wife told me that one night after I got done drinking that I was telling her in my sleep that I couldn't talk to her because she wasn't in the lobby =O

That didn't make her happy.

It's hardly an addiction, it's something you enjoy doing, why stop doing it?

I spend around 12 hours a day gaming. Whether i'm boosting, practicing for tournaments, playing in one or coaching. I very rarely get a chance to just sit down, chill out and kinds "process my thoughts", even if they're nothing important, my brain doesn't have any downtime during the day to kind of file everything away.

So it happens at night, so my dreams 90% of the time are more of a "Previously, In Sorry I'm F2P's day" recap or just gaming, talking to people and such.

It's a pretty normal thing, if you're enjoying it and you're wanting to play more, set targets, look for things to improve on so at the end of the day it feels like you've accomplished something and it's not just "another day of league"

Meh i've dreamed about league before cho was chasing me :(

It's pretty normal if you pull a late nighter on any task that you dream about whatever it was you were doing.

Hell, I've dreamed about battling Lance in the Elite Four before, when I was playing Pokemon Red until 5 or 6 AM.

This, dreaming about it in itself doesn't necessarily mean that you're addicted. Usually you're going to dream about stuff that you were thinking about before you fell asleep.

If you're letting it distract from your school work though that is another issue. I've struggled with balancing videogames with school my entire life haha (even into college). What I've always done is take an hour or two and pound out homework with my laptop off, and then go back and play. Usually you can get most of your homework done just in those two hours if you do it ever day. Now I just do my homework in between class periods in the library and it amounts to about the same couple of hours of studying every day.

To add on to Darkest, if you dream about League and haven't played in a day or two... you're addicted and it's actually affecting your brain.

Now, behavioral addiction is a different story. I'd say the majority of people who put 3 or 4 hours into one specific activity per day are behaviorally addicted. This just means your brain has developed a specific pleasure center about that one activity. It's not harmful to you physiologically or even behaviorally to be "addicted" to League of Legends, but like anyone with common sense would say, keep it from getting into your list of important priorities. As long as you aren't neglecting any priorities (homework, food, cleaning, showering) it's nothing to be worried about.

The answer to your question is willpower, my friend. Willpower is one of the hardest skills to learn in today's age of instant gratification. Try and make a barrier between school and League of Legends, so that your brain isn't overly excited about getting home and immediately starting up a queue. Force yourself to go for a 20 minute run, or do your laundry, or read a chapter in a book.... some sort of task that can put your brain in "relaxation" mode can wall off the high-stress school environment and the high-reward League of Legends environment. It can help with the "withdrawal" you are experiencing.

I've had the same problems man, best solution is to try out new games :) I find my self stressed playing league all the time because of addiction or "something I like to do" or generally because of ranked etc. I look at other games, mostly on Youtube watch pro gamers and entertainers and half the time I forget about league.

Just take a break sometimes, because I used to be just like you.. now I'm so burnt out of this game that I cant even really enjoy it anymore. I got a pentakill on stream yesterday and didn't even smile. The only reason I play anymore is to coach friends in normals or do boosting but.. I just played too much and got serious burnout. Care for that. (And yes, every time I say burnout, I think of shyvana)
