To the Future:
As you know, Shadow recently talked publicly for the first time about ShadowBot.. Something that the team here has been working on for quite some time now, and it's looking really cool. Another new endeavor began last year known as JBot (RuneDream), who are taking another approach to the challenges presented by Bot Nuke Day. RiD has kept on clicking their colors. And work continues at RSCA and PB to get their old systems up and running.
A lot of people have been wondering about iDungeon and if I'll be bringing it back, etc. What I can tell you is that I'm now exploring the possibility. These past few months have been devoted entirely to other projects while waiting for the dust to settle; it's been nice to take a break and devote time for something else.
A New Version?
What has become clear by now is that no matter what platform I would consider, significant portions of an already oversized script would need to be rewritten and extended. This would require significant time investments just to approach the quality you've come to expect. And even this may not even be possible for some time still to come in the aftermath of Nuke Day.
I have talked with Cocaine, an admin over at RuneDream/JBot, who has accommodated my questions about their development thus far. When they release their first public APIs in near future, I will be reviewing their client.
I'll be taking the time to consider all my options, and deciding whether I can make iDungeon happen again, and whether it is worth my while to do so. Bottom line is, I haven't decided to continue the script at this time, and even if I do, I can't say where or when it will happen definitively until I have a working product. I'll be sure to let you all know just as soon as this decision has been made.
Thanks Again
To all my customers who've enjoyed the script, to everyone who's supported me even following nuke day, and the team here who made it all happen to begin with. Between Jagex's fresh content + updates, RSBuddy's new client, and a whole new botting scene, 2012 is definitely shaping up to be an intriguing year in RS.
Have fun out there!
kiko
