Best smoke Pic?

I need some advice doing a school thing and i took these 4 smoke pics and i need to know what one should i use. Just base pics will be touching them up using photoshop.

 

none of them are any good...but the first one is the best...

Try to take the pictures from farther away, use dense smoke and don't "blow" it out if you're using a cigarette, let it spiral out...

 

like he said, none are really that good, but the first one looks the best out of those.

I feel you need more of a solid, maybe darker background, to make the smoke stand out more and it would make it look more professional

but I also don't really know what your trying to do with it, you didn't explain your project very well.

 

You can't make a presentation using smoke (Def if its weed smoke) and have harry potter in the background :/
But on topic i like the first one the best. The fourth one isn't bad, the mirror makes a cool effect on the smoke.

 

I would say the last one cause its without harrypotter.

 

maybe try making smoke rings? they are very appealing. would help if you told us your project.

 

second one is pretty good, just get some top shelf and a double perc. I'm sure you can get some sicker smoke pix bro

 

I wouldn't exactly classify any as "great." But if you had to choose between the four the first one is the best.

 

What do you recall as "Best"?
They're pretty LQ and basic.. Maybe take the images with a better camera?


Something like that looks very interesting too, try to do something like that, just with your own twist to it.

 

I see your a Harry Potter fan haha. I only like the movies >.>

OT: If any the first is the best but not too great, probably get a better camera and take another one like the first one, try to it late at night when its cold and there's a light near you, when I smoke outside late at night the smoke looks awesome. :b

 

First one is the better of them, all bad but sorry...

 

To get the best picture, I suggest you play with the lighting and definitely try to have the smoke as your focal point. Play around with the smoke and try to get the most interesting shapes as others have said.

With all of the other materials surrounding your smoke, it's hard to focus on your smoke.

On another note, something you might want to try out: Putting 1-2 drops of artificial coloring in water, they produce a "smoke like" effect.

 

All are crappy, keep looking for some :s
