I got arrested for online fraud LOL

Story time with Divica

On the 7th of September I was awoken at 8am by two Police officers knocking on my door. They invited themselves inside and walked into my living room where they told me to take a seat. They informed me that I was under arrest for three counts of online fraud, and they needed to sieze all of my electronic devices and bank statements. I knew that I hadn't done anything wrong so I thought I'd just comply and co-operate to get it sorted (They came into my house and started searching through my drawers and shit without a warrant). They took my phone, computer, iPad, memory sticks, external hard drive etc. and took me to the Police station.

I went through processing where I had to hand over my shoes and the cord from my shorts so that I can't hang myself and was told I'd have to wait in a cell for half an hour while the officer gets his questions ready for my interview. (They gave me a phone call but I don't actually know anybody's number off by heart lol.) So I got put into cell M7 which consisted of nothing but a bench and a toilet. I was in there for 2 hours then finally the officer came to conduct my interview. It actually revolved around some payments which were paid into my business bank account in May this year, and then claimed as fraudulent. It took me TWO HOURS just to explain what RuneScape Gold is and what I do as a business because the Police officer just couldn't understand at all. Then it took another hour to explain that I'm not the one commiting the fraud. I'll explain the scam in more detail in the spoiler below;

Spoiler: Scam details

It's basically a 'man in the middle' scam.
> Scammer posts online that they're selling concert tickets for £163, for example.
> Victim contacts scammer wanting to buy said tickets.
> Scammer instructs the victim to send a bank transfer and then he will mail the tickets.
> Scammer gives MY bank details to the victim.
> Victim sends £163 to MY bank thinking they're buying concert tickets from the scammer.
> Scammer then visits my website and creates an order for £163.
> Scammer visits my livechat and says they created an order and paid.
> DivicaSales employee see's an order and a payment, then delivers the gold to the scammer.

> Victim contacts the police and says "I got scammed by the owner of these bank details".
> I get arrested.

The scammer also hacked someone's Facebook account then talked their friend into a PayPal sender scam wherein they receive money via PayPal, withdraw it to their bank, bank transfer the money to my bank account thinking that they're just helping out their friend, then the PayPal they received gets chargedback.

So after a three hour interview I had to go get my finger prints taken, a mugshot and give DNA to be added into the Police database. Then I was sent back to my cell to wait to see what happens next. I was in the cell for another hour, so three hours total, then I was released on bail to provide evidence to support my interview.

They took me home where I had no computer or phone or anything to access the internet and I just felt completely lost. I just went to my sisters house and printed off all the evidence I need so that I could take it to the Police station the next day, and also ordered a new computer for ASAP delivery.

I took my evidence in on the 8th of September and heard nothing back until the 8th of October when they told me that I was being released from the investigation, no charges, no criminal record. Something funny that the Police officer told me is that they contacted Jagex during the investigation and Jagex already knew my name and told the Police that they 'Aren't happy with me' LOL. I finally got all my stuff back on the 10th of October so they had my stuff for 33 days for a crime that I didn't commit. Also they have no leads as to who the actual scammer is so the investigation is just being abandoned which kinda sucks, I'd have liked for them to at least catch the actual guy.

Another interesting thing to note is that I had no access to my Sythe account since the 7th of September when they took my computer and phone, I didn't bother trying to get my two factor removed because I didn't think it'd take so long, but the last activity on my Sythe account was on the 13th of September before I got back on, so the Police were on Sythe on my account. Spooky.

Also after being in a cell for only three hours, both my ankles were riddled to fuck with flea bites, pretty nasty.
