I dont know anything about computers so please help me with this

Hello Ladies and Gentleman, i'm having problems with running games with good settings because of my damn graphics card and i was wondering is it possible to upgrade just the graphics card or do i have to upgrade something else in order to upgrade..

    Specs:

    Operating system: Windows 8.1
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-4460 Processor, Quad-core, 3.2 GHz / 3.4 GHz with Turbo Boost, 6 MB cache
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 (16 GB maximum installable RAM)
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 705 (1 GB)
    Storage: 2 TB, 7200 rpm
    Motherboard: Intel® H81 DDR3 2DIMM
    Wireless: 802.11 b/g/n
    Ethernet: Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000)
    USB: USB 3.0 x 2, USB 2.0 x 4
    Video interface: HDMI x 1, VGA x 1
Optical disc drive: DVD/RW with double layer support
Memory card reader: 7-in-1 memory card reader
    Expansion card slot: PCIe (x1) x 3, PCIe (x16) x 1
Sound: 5.1 channel surround sound support
    PSU: 280 W

apparently i cant change my graphics card because my psu is low :\

Is this a premade PC? If so what model is it?

You may or may not be able to upgrade your PSU depending on the PC model.

I may be able to find a better GPU than the 705 that you could run on the 280w psu but it may be pushing it a bit..

PSU 280W holy moly how does that support anything lol. I'd advise upgrading PSU AND the GPU, but that's just me.

Get a new PSU and GPU. If you just want moderate quality you could get this done for $250. Your processor is actually pretty good though, so I'd recommend spending like $300 on a good GPU then a new PSU would set you down anywhere between 40 and 50.

Yeah. You need to get a new GPU and PSU. 280W is what you have, and it's not good enough for a proper GPU.

According to Lenovo's site (here) you can upgrade to a GX 750TI without having to upgrade your PSU.

Heres some 750 TI's you can choose from: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...=BESTMATCH&Description=750+TI&N=-1&isNodeId=1

I would go with this or this

I would strongly suggest upgrading your PSU just to be safe, you can upgrade to any PSU as long as its the same physical size as your current PSU. If it's a standard sized PSU this would work great:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026

That'll only cost you about $200 or £140

edit: just to be safe i suggest opening up your PC and seeing if the GPU would fit, some of the versions of the GTX 750TI are quite large... Or just buy the 02G-P4-3757-KR version to be safe. Actually found a youtube video of a guy upgrading his lenovo h50 here which you can watch as a reference.

Try looking at an AMD GPU if you're on a budget. I don't care for AMD GPU's/CPU's but I can't deny for the price they're hard to beat.

/r/buildapcsales is a good place to go look at over on Reddit. Browse it for a few weeks to get an idea of what "normal prices" are and then you'll know when a great deal pops up.

What did you end up getting? Make sure you get a quality PSU, I've had two builds blow out on me because of cheap PSUs that came with the case. I recommend Corsair Modular, but it's around $100 for a 750w, which is MUCH more than enough, but it'll be there in case you ever want to upgrade/overclock.
