I know right, why would the police care that you lost a Runescape account, its against the rules in the first to sell your Runescape account. If you get scammed on any forum your pretty much screwed because your not going to get your money back unless you got alot of details of the scammer.

 

Wow. Now those are some badass runescape players.

Well the mask..was prob a haloween mask...or somethin so they prob risked it for that.

 

Maybe like a 3rd age amulet or something, but remember this was like 2 years ago so prices were probably different too.

 

It's truly amazing how low some people go for virtual goods. If he's willing to assault someone for that, I wonder to what extent his violent behavior will go for other things he covets?

Also, on another note, I can virtually guarantee you that local law enforcement will not move a single finger to help you if you get scammed online.

 

I might slightly disagree with the last statement, because till this day (before I read this article) I didn't believe the police would do anything. However by the seems of they care if the person comes inside your house and threatens you at knife point to give them some in-game item... someone with an un-stable mind would have to do this... :/

 

If someone threatens you at knife point, I dont think it matters what they want. Police are gonna do something.

This is probably how some people got rich without doing much ingame and without paying money, although nobody probably would get too far unless the ones they attacked were too scared to tell and nobody else knew what was going on.
