HUE's and others

Hi all, I know I've been gone for a while and quite frankly, I don't post much anymore, but there is something that I've been wanting to say for a while. Most of you don't know what goes on in the UE private forum, but having been a former HUE and Global, I would just like to thank Greg and Magic Arrow for the work they've been doing whilst I've been away. Not only have they stepped up as User Educators, but they've taken the responsibility of running the UE, and I'm very proud and thankful for both of you.

To add to that, it's nice to see so many UE's taking an active part on the staff. So a special thanks to Gohan, Hahanerd, Brendan, and FireZ. As well, a big thank you to the rest of the staff (I know there are quite a few of you) who have participated on the UE team at some point in the past and your continued contributions to the site and community.

P.S. I'd like to take this space to personally thank Pen for all of the work he did over the past couple years. You were a great asset to the site and I thank you for your efforts.

 

Valid point, these men have worked hard in and behind the scenes to stabilize the UE in a time of shifting leadership. However, i feel that UE needs to be redone, as it currently seems becoming a UE is more getting a rank and less being helpful and educating new users.

 

Marrow and Greg have been doing a great job as HUE. Although I can't really say the Ues have been pulling their wait. Half the team was kicked out for inactivity this month.

 

While I believe there is frustration for many people regarding this, from what I have seen in the private forum, they are making leaps and bounds towards this goal.

This is just a testament to the fact that Marrow and Greg are upholding the rules and doing there jobs as HUEs, so kudos to them.

The UE is being redone and reconstructed, and I can speak for both myself and marrow that we are putting are best efforts into improving the section as a whole. We have had disappointing efforts from our members as of late, and in turn and they have been removed. To those who have been active as ever to make up for their lack of efforts, I commend you. I would encourage everyone to get active in the section, as we try to better the UE.

 

Actually I've got to disagree with that. Brendan, Fishy, Hahanerd and I (current Ues left) are some of the most helpful people I've seen in a while. If you could see Brendan what Brendan did last month, I think your opinion would change in an instant.

 

I'll be honest here and I hope I don't offend anyone..

- I don't see a need for a rank just to help people, because I would do it anyways. Which is why I didn't do the checklist.

Again, no offense to anyone, because I still think you guys are doing a great job.

 

Brendan W, completed a checklist that is challenging in it's own right, over 4 times over.

Also, let's not forget good old Dalpra, he's HUE but away for a few weeks.

 

Same could be said about moderators.

 

I agree 100% that these UEs are both active and helpful. Brendan is one of my favorite people on the site and he is extremely friendly. I was talking about the system User Education works on itself. I think the system could be implements so new members are made aware of UE as soon as they sign up. Additionally, having a form, IM system, or even prominant thread where members can ask a UE questions would improve the rank.

I can't wait for the promising update coming soon

tl;dr: my comment before was on the User Education system, not the UEs themselves.

 

I actually left because of what I perceived to be a high degree of dissension between the team members, as well as leadership specifically. However after having recently seen a very mature post by Marrow addressing the issue that I had seen, I feel confident that he and Greg will be making improvements in the near future.

 

Round of applause to both Greg and Marrow. They're doing everything they can to make the UE section as well as they can after the temporary resignation of R33l and Dalpra. Thanks.
