How you can help out Sythe.org [posts dump]

[thorne_bro]

Unlikely, we are in google and they haven't figured it out yet. Plus we have the proxy blocker now.

It's because Jagex is stupid lol...
I will link it through every webpage I have

I am linking people everyday, and they claim to sign up, but my referrals are still 0 I believe. How does this happen?

Its the type of hosting plan where you have a dual cpu dual core top of the line AMD server all to yourself, with premium bandwidth. You know nothing about hosting large sites with huge traffic, so spare me your lectures.

Paying in advance isn't going to help us if the site is making a net loss. It will just lead to a worse problem in the end. Far better to keep the cash flow in the positive so that its not out of sight out of mind. In addition I expect to be able to take a cut for myself (for time and effort invested which could be spent doing other somewhat more profitable things.)

I am happy to work for the site, for free, for a while, but I have pretty strict limits on such things. The site was almost folded earlier this year when ad-sense banned me and refused to pay. Fortunately adbrite turned out to be a good egg.

If the site makes a loss two months in a row it’ll be the end of it. I am not going to fork out to keep it floated.

Considering that I am running the show I suggest you leave the decisions to me

I donated $5 yesterday might be donating some more just to keept it floating. I'm glad that you atleast try to keep the community floating because some owners of communitys just don't give a fuck.

I think sythe.org should have groups on myspace/facebook.. and or a page for it could have more people come to sythe.

Server is now 300 USD a month. Sythemils hasn't made much yet because thorpe is still getting everything sorted out, and he’s had to deal with a number of nasty cc reversals on paypal. He has filed a law suit against PayPal I believe for wrongful debt.

Sythe.org's pagerank recently dropped to 6 which means now we are treading the fine line. Most of the footer link buyers will pull out soon I imagine (because we are no longer pagerank 7) which leaves only the ads to cover us. Since the ads are unstable and make more some months and less others, usually just under 400 dollars, we now have a very small buffer.

So hopefully we can get sythemils up and running properly and get sythe.org back to a pagerank 7, otherwise we might be a bit stuffed (especially in the event the hosting company raises prices, which is inevitable with the massive US inflation right now.)

If the situation gets really desperate I’ll ask for paypal donations for that month, but hopefully we can keep this setup floated!

Owned? I think it's more of an insult coming from the owner of the site.

[Captin]

Wow, 300 a month!

I'll be putting this on my facebook definatly!

[Desperate Times]

If you want to help sythe.org grow please link to us:
You can add the link to your myspace or web page.

Sythe.org is now on faster servers, which are more expensive to pay for, which means we need more traffic to keep the advertising revenue above the server costs. So please link to us! It will bring new members both from your websites and from Google (who think a site is more important if it has more links.)

If everyone links to us the site will become much larger which means more trading, more cheats, more staff, and more improvements! If you don't have a website, make one

If you need help linking post here and we'll assist you!

Cheers,
Sythe

cool, but jagex could come..?

[d 7 x]

Just noticed this thread, shame on me. I'll make sure to post links.

[Tylobedo]

i will post 1000x links.

Btw to all the people telling sythe stuff about the host and use this host ect. Wouldn't you think that he looked around for the best deal? And he is the one running a huge site like this not you, so odds are he knows more then you.

Also not good to argue with owners.

Because people being assholes to less educated members isn't the problem with this site at all...

i will post 1000x links.

Sythe doesn't need the best deal.

He needs to pay for a server that's run by competent net-techs with a properly configures cisco router because of these ddos attacks.

[Draucia]

I have a lot of websites. I will post this on all of them! Sythe is the best!

[SoccerG]

Anyone that doesn't realize that Jagex knows what sythe is isn't very smart. The only reason they haven't complained to take this site down is because they use it to see what they need to fix to stop "RWT that ruins the game" along with other websites.
