ok well i just selected 2 ip adresses, since it gave me another 1 for free, im just wondering how will this help me at all?

so i currently have 2 dynamic ip adresses.

my setup:

cable -- > modem --> router --> Computers/Xbox360

thanks

yeah i should have been more clear.

There are 2 types of ip addresses static and dynamic. Both do the same thing. Dynamic IP addreses are automatically assigned to your computer, while static IPs you must go to the TCP/IP properties and type it in yourself.

Most people have Dynamic IPs and there I dont think you would have any good reason to change it to static.

If you have two IP addresses you have internet for two computers

wtp... do you even read your posts before submitting them? That "sentence" makes absolutely no sense.

Dynamic IP addresses won't really help you do much (other than avoid bans from people who don't know how to block by subnets).

It will save you time whenever you need to type in your normal IP address; you can leave it black, and it will be assigned an IP address on its own.

Dynamic IP Addresses are most frequently assigned on LANs and broadband networks by Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) servers. They are used because it avoids the administrative burden of assigning specific static addresses to each device on a network. It also allows many devices to share limited address space on a network if only some of them will be online at a particular time. In most current desktop operating systems, dynamic IP configuration is enabled by default so that a user does not need to manually enter any settings to connect to a network with a DHCP server. DHCP is not the only technology used to assigning dynamic IP addresses. Dialup and some broadband networks use dynamic address features of the Point-to-Point Protocol.

lol, i know what a dynamic ip adress is, im just wondering what having more than 1 will do for me? they said that you should usually have 1 per computer.

hmm im pretty sure that there is a point, because or else why would they be charging $10.00/ month if you have more than 2.
