So...his girlfriend messaged me. The below information just about explains everything, she's deleted me on HIS fb, MSN, and we're reduced to email contact.

Dude, your girlfriend is fucking nuts, her over controlling, accusation-al desperate attempts continue to spiral.

I've been there for Rob for almost 7 years, and if I REALLY wanted to, I can guarantee that you'd regret EVER, and I mean EVER writing this to me of all people. I don't know whether she's deleted it from his Email or not, because I haven't received a reply yet, which is weird because he almost always replies within the hour after work.

I just don't know what to do, I'm stuck for options because she's so in-control it's almost frightening, and I love Rob too much to ruin shit for him, because if I wanted to, I could literally say 'It's me or her' and I know 100% that he'd choose me.

Any advice would be appreciated, and if you've read this far I thank you.

If my girlfriend told me who I could be friends with and who I couldn't I'd slam her to the curb so fast her head would spin.

 

I'd do the exact same dude, and I'm still awaiting a reply from him. So I kind of need advise as to further my point without COMPLETELY pissing in the wind.

 

That sucks lol, same shit happens with me alot, my one friend that I was best friends with since 1st grade, so like 13 years, gets a girlfriend and she freaks out on me because I tell my friend that I'm sick of never being able to hang out with him because of her and she removed me off of FB and shit lol.

 

It does suck man, it's really demoralising to know that I may have lost my best friend to some Irish cunt, I just don't know what else I can possibly do ><

Go for the "It's me or her" i know you don't want to do that... But do you really want your best friend to be with a girl like that?
You may hurt his feelings then, but you will have helped him out A LOT, his life will be shit if he stays with her. Say it now before he gets even more involved with her.

 

if he was a true friend he would have realized that your friendship is breaking down due to his gf . maybe she's putting stuff into his head . Like you said nothing lasts forever and he'll sooner or later realize that. Let him reply to what you said , keep us updated .

 

I think what's happening is(I'm just going to assume) he's somewhere near the beginning of this relationship and he's just blinded and whipped. The only thing you can really do is either wait it out and hope he realizes that he's being an idiot, or you need to keep fighting. Just keep sending him emails and trying to get in contact with him. Go to his place and force him to see you, I don't know Rob personally, but if he's your best friend and he's worth fighting for, then don't give up. You need to realize that love is strong and it'll take a lot to uncloud his vision.

 

Call him or meet up with him to tell him that, his girlfriend is probably there every step of the way bullshitting about you. I've met my share of drama making girls. There is no way a bitch like that would be "the one".

Your friend needs to wake the fuck up. Harsh, but true.

 

She's a bitch, if a friendship is going to be ruined over a control freak of a girlfriend, then that's sad.

I had an ex girlfriend who broke up with me on valentine's day, and soon after I started talking to a much older girl. This older girl and I grew closer and soon my ex found out about it. When she did, she felt jealous and asked me for forgiveness. Since I was still fragile from the breakup, and still really cared about her, I forgave her and started dating her again. Unfortunately, she wouldn't let me spend time with the older girl who had become my best friend. However, she was still hanging out with other guys while the people I was allowed to communicate with was restrained.

My point is, your friend shouldn't let his girlfriend push him around like that. It's your friends, not your parter, who are always there for you unconditionally.

Thanks for the advice, it's all indubitably been taken on-board. I still have yet to receive a reply from Rob, I've re-sent the email. If anyone could propose another way to get through to him other than shaking his head from the top of the tree, it'd be much appreciated.

 

Does he live near you? If so the best option is to go right over and tell him everything

 

I'm at Uni, he's over 250 Miles away right now. He's apparently moving in with her as well, it just gets fucking worse ><

 

Probably the most effective way to reach Rob would be to call his work, his cell phone, or just visit him next time you're in town.

 

I'm going to pay him a visit around Christmas time, and surprise him ^^ his girlfriend won't have a choice once we're actually in each-others company.

I hope that I was able to help some, and I hope you don't give up on him. I've been in relationships like that, so I know that Rob probably feels bad about it too. Have you asked his girlfriend why she doesn't like you, or is she just completely nuts?

but i'd recommend literally bombing his email with a message like this:
"sorry for sending you thousands of the same email, but your girl kept deleting everything that I sent to ya.
What I want to tell you is that,
sooner or later, you're going to break up with your girl. But by the time that that happen, I'll be long gone. You'll have lost both your best friend and your girlfriend. Think about that"
