How to make a Pure in Runescape!

Intro
Hello fellow runescapers, this is a step by step guide to make a successful str/mage pure. I have left out range in the beginning, because it will get u too many cb's from the start, if you follow my guide you will minimize your combat as much as possible and you'll be able to own anyone your level till 50s, then you would get the range for extra hits. I strongly advise you to keep defense and prayer at level 1, because it is a waste of cb's, unless you want to get ancients then 11-13 pray is acceptable.

~Starting your pure~
1st of all getting your username, many people choose there names to show their combat styles, or to show that you're a pure, you can just choose a name you like, but make sure you like it, cause you will live with that screen name for a long time, you don't want reach 85+ str then realize that you don't like your name...

After you've chosen a suitable name, start tutorial island, just go through it as fast as possible, don't bother to get any levels, until u reach till the mage at the end, when he gives u the runes, drop them and talk to him again, he will hive u some more, then pick up the ones you dropped, and then cast wind strikes till u get 3 mage. Now leave the tutorial island, and go to the real world, an adventure waits!

~ Things to be done in f2p/getting cash *


Step 1: when u finish tutorial island, talk to the guy above the castle to get the training sword, its better than bronze, and go up to the chicken farm, kill the chickens and pick up their feather in all the next steps.
Step 2: Get 5 attack, and 10str.
Step 3: Get 20 attack and 20 str, now you can leave the chickens and you would have collected a reasonable amount of feathers, go and sell them for 6 ea in w2 (fally bank) or w1 (varrock west bank or edgeville bank), then go to alkarid and buy a mith scimmy from the guy.
Step 4: now head to south falador till you reach the cows, I personally use this spot because it is less crowded then lumby, and it's closer to the east bank of fally.
Step 5: Keep killing cows and collected hides till 30 attack 30 str, you would have collected around 500 hides, then go and tan the rest in alkharid into soft leathers, you can sell these up to 200ea! Thats a 100k profit!
Step 5: Now you should have a good amount of cash. Buy an air staff and buy a reasonable ammount of minds, just enough to get you 13 mage using wind strike. head to the rune shop in port sarim and buy 1000 fire strikes to get you some mage levels and some hits, you should have around 40 mage now, go and buy 500 crumble undeads, and use the spell on zombies in varrocks sewers which will get you to 45 mage.
Step 6: now go buy an inventory of lobs and some deaths, and go do the vampire quest, don't worry the quest is a pushover, just watch out that the location of the guy who gives you the stake has been changed, just look at you quest log in runescape to know where he is. This quest will give you some attack xp.

Step 7: Now go buy an addy skimmy and head to the monks in the monastery, no food is needed since they can heal you if you talk to them, and they are good experience since they heal themselves. Keep training on them till 40 attack and 50 str, and your done with f2p, now I suggest subscribing for members.


Note: Just this takes an extremely long time. An estimated 12 - 16 hours of game play just to complete this part. Chickens take 3 hours. Cows take 2. No time on monks yet

~P2P~
Ok so your done with the things in p2p, now you have more challenges and thing to make your pure ready.

Step 1: Buy or run 4k laws, and teleport to Camelot till u get 59-60 mage.
Now time for some serious questing.
Step 2: Finish waterfall quest, Its easy the hardest part is getting past the creeps to get the necklace, just keep a full invent of lobsters or sharks.

Step 3: Do gnome village, quest it** easy, but killing the Kharazard general at the end is hard, just get some snares and fire blasts, and when u get to him run into the trees, then fire blast him once to get him away from guards, when he gets into trees snare him, then blast away!!! Just keep an inventory full of lobs, and head back to the maze to finish the quest.

Step 4: Grand tree, well the hardest part of this quest is getting the 25 agility requirement, I did the gnome course till 22 agility, then potted when I had to go up the tower to reach the trapdoor of the demon, the demon is easy, just hide behind the draconian rocks and fire blast him.

Step 5: Fight arena, this quest can be tricky, but here let me assist you, get some fire blasts, snares, and sharks and start the quest. All the monsters can be trapped behind the corpse on the ground, even though some guides tell you that you can't get the general stuck, but you can! Leaving you a chance to mage them freely, if u can't get them stuck, then snare and blast away. And be sure to keep the kharazard pl8 because it is the coolest armor you can wear at 1 def.
Step 5: Well now that you've done all these quests you should have around 50 attack!! Since they all give a decent attack xp.

Step 6: Time to meet your new friends, the rock crabs, pick up a rune skimmy, and train on these till 50 str, then 60 attack, keep 50 str if u want own people your level and make some good cash staking at level 49.

Lets look at your stats, if u followed the guide you should have the following stats:

60 attack
50 str
55 hits
1def
1pray
1range
59-60 mage.

And at an amazing 48 cb!!! Now time to get your new ownage weapon, ~~dragon dagger~~
Step 7: get 36 wc, and 31 crafting, which will take around 2 hours, just stick to it, then finish The Lost City quest. Its fairly easy, when you reach the spirit at the end just hind behind the mushroom and blast away!!

Gratz a level 48 with a dds that can spec a 14-14 not potted, and a 16-16 potted.

Step 8: Time to so monkey madness, don't worry, don't get scared by all the guides saying it's very hard, its actually easy, even at 1 range!! I did it at 55 hits, 1 range, and 59 mage.
To start off buy around 4 dueling rings, 100 sharks, 10 anti pots, and 20 super runs. Always keep a dueling ring equipped.
General tips: Always keep 1 anti and 2 super runs at all times on the island, make sure u always have a duel ring equipped before leaving the bank to go to crash island. When your running in the tunnel to get to zooknock, don't waste your inventory with antis you will hardly get poisoned if your running, just keep 1 anti, 5 super runs, and the rest full of sharks, and don't bother yourself to wear anything, just wear a duel ring, and make sure your not lagging before you do it
When you reach the demon at the end just run south across the bridges, and wait around 5 mins, until the gnomes remove almost all his health, then run out and fire blast him, make sure your full on sharks, he hits fast 30s.

Gratz you've finished the quest!! A level 48 that can wield a d skim, and your max hit with it is 17 potted.

Note: Estimated 20 - 32 hours of gameplay including the items you must obtain to complete the quests.

~~Making cash after Monkey madness Step~~
Now time to make some real cash at a low level, believe it or not, people don't get dds/d skim before level 54 when they have 60 attack and str, so basically all the people your level will be people with rune skims and mauls.

Head to the duel arena and take some cash with you and a dskim and dds, and stake people up to lvl 51, because they probably won't have d weaps, stake using these rules:

All armor of except for right hand slot to wield dds/dskim, make sure shield is off, so you don't go against any granite mauls/obby mauls.
No food,
No pots,
No pray,
No range,
No mage,
Spec ON

You'll own everyone your level for a while, Until you are ready to become more advanced.
This is what you not more use , because update.

~~Advancing your pure~~
Now you should have a decent amount of cash, and time to move on, you'll want to do quests like horror from the deep, desert treasure, mage arena, all of these require a certain range level, whether you want to range bosses, or you want the d hide mage bonus.
Step 1: Getting 20 range, train on chickens.

Step 2: Move on to barbarians in the pub north of barbarian village, good xp till 30.

Step 3: Now move on to rock crabs once again, and train your ranged up to 60 buying your best bows/ dhide as you advance.

Step 4: Move on to fire giants and get 70 range, You'll also get some decent drops, maybe a d med if your lucky.


Time for some more questing
Step 5: Mage Arena, Wear your black d hide vamps+chaps and get around 100 fire blasts, and talk to kilodian, and start killing the monsters inside, when u get to the demon at the end, run west down the arena so he won't attack you, try to target him, and run out fire blast him, and run back outside every few seconds, this way he's a push over. Get zammy cape, it matches your outfit and zammy staff because its accurate.

Step 6: Horror from the deep, You should have 30 agility if you followed all the steps from the beginning, 22 from doing gnome course, and 30 from the xp Grand tree quest gives.
This quest is also easy, just wield a mage bow with rune arrows, and have all blast spells in your inventory, don't use staffs, because you'll want to alternate between, water, fire, air, earth and range. Get ZAMMY BOOK because it's basically the best for pures.

Step 7: Recipe for disaster, do four parts of it, for mith gloves, they will increase your ,max hit by 1!!

Now would be the time to get your str up, but 1st lets look at your outfit:
Helm: Iron/Fish bowl from RFD, Possibly a rare?
Body: Iron pl8/ Kharazard pl8.
Legs: Black dhide
Shield: Zammy book w/ pages.
Weapon: D skimmy
Gloves: Mith gloves/Black d hide vamps
Ammy: Str/Glory/Fury
Cape: Obby/Zammy cape/Back pack from RFD.
Ring: Wealth/zerker or warior?

Your probably 50-55str atm from dueling.
Ok now for some serous str training:
You can either train at rock crabs or if you want ancients, you can do Priest in Peril quest, and go to experiments best XP in the game!!
You can get around 50k xp an hour training with a d skimmy at experiments.
Stay here from 50str- 75+

Then you can switch to pest control till 85+ str
I usually alternate between Rock crabs/experiments/pest control/ and I usually alch, more info in next step.

Ok now you'd think I would've forgotten about mage eh? Well your wrong, You should be melee based, and you should be at least 82 mage.
Step 1: Get 70 mage, this will require 8k alchs.
Step 2:get 82 mage for ice blitz or 85 for tb, this will be around 26k alchs from 70.
Step 3 (optional): 94 mage for ice barrage, if u want antients. 120k alchs from 85 :s *You might be thinking... I wana stay at 85! Hehe*

Don't alch all at once so you don't get bored, alternate between str training and high alching.

~~Desert treasure~~

Don't consider doing this before 70 mage and 70 range.
Do all req quest, and get requirements, to tell you the truth getting 53 thieving in 1 go is a pain, you'll die of boredom, so I suggest training thieving every once in a while and alching between them, Also do the fued quest, it gives some decent thieving xp, then train on master farmers in draynor till 53, you'll make around 500k from seeds, depending on your luck.

Bosses:
Ice diamond: The hardest part is killing 5 trolls, just get a canon with around 500 c balls, I guarantee you would have killed 5 ice trolls. Then bank, and go on a separate trip to kill kamil, it would be a good idea to get a friend to help you here, Let him guide you to Kamil, and make sure your full on sharks, and he also has an invent of sharks, and let him carry your canon, when you reach kamil snare him and set up your canon fast, then hide behind the cliff, and let your friend stand on the side to block him.

Damis: He's easy all you need is a level 80+ blocker that has done dt, once you get to the big room, let your friend walk 1 step infront of you and mage away.

Blood diamond: killing the vampire is easy just set up your canon at the entrance, and wake him up, and run to the outside of the inner fence, that way who wont tele to u, he will only mage you.

Fareed: Many people underestimate him, buy I've seen him hit 36's on people with low def, like use pures, just get a blocker, and use canon.

Pyramid, get 6 super runs, and fill with sharks, wear boots of lightness, this is easier then the tunnel for monkey madness.
Gratz you have unlocked the power of ancient magics!!!
Don't forget to pick up Ghostly robes, as you'll need them for pking.

You may consider getting 70 attack for whip, for a boost against rune pures and peoples mains, and when you reach 80-85 str your in the pro zone so gratz, u might consider 80-90 attack and 99 str as future goals, and 99 range if u wana Advance to a hybrid...



~~Pking~~

Finally The moment we've all been waiting for!

Outfit:
Ghostly Hood
Ghostly Top
Black d hide Chaps
Mith gloves
Climbing boots.
Str/mage/glory ammy
Zammy Cape
Recoil ring.

Your inventory should include:
Dds
Super str pot
Super attack pot
Mage pot (optional)
Mage bow/Rune arrows (optional)
Rune xbow+ rune bolts (optional)
Around 50 Ice spell runes
An extra recoil (optional)
And the rest full of sharks.

Strategy:
What you should do is pot, use your ice spells a few times then dds spec till dead, extremely effective, always use 3 specs, keep an extra once for emergencies, if you don't kill them switch to d skim, when their hp is low, ice them, then dds spec.
Using this strategy you can become a great pker.
