How to get started with trading and investing

How would one get started with it as a complete beginner who knows nothing? Is there a very useful website that teaches it really well or a youtube channel which teaches it well or even a really useful book?

you can and should google around, read a lot, and see what interests you and you agree with. investopedia is useful tool, some articles on seekingalpha and the motley fool CAN be useful (but there's a lot of crap on those sites as well - being able to know what's what is a useful tool that you can only learn through experience)

and feel free to ask more specific questions here if you have them at this point. i personally feel that it's worth taking a few hundred/thousand bucks and playing around with it to see what you think of things/to gauge your risk tolerance and preferences for different kinds of securities/market conditions/whatever.

tl;dr - read a lot, but you can't learn everything without trying it out yourself

Copy pasted from another thread I just posted on but could be useful for you if you don't check that other thread

Seekingalpha is a nice source of information - but take it with a grain of salt. It's great for brainstorming ideas and seeing other opinions

Investopedia is a fucking great source to learn the basics. Stop sells/buys, Limit sells/buys, options, etc etc.

As for option strategies/investments/trading check out tastytrade
