How to find new music using the internets

Billy: Hey Josh!
Josh: What?
Billy: Have you listened to the new Vampire Weekend single?
Josh:Who are they?

Finding good new bands is hard. But there are several shortcuts.

1st Is Pandora. Pandora creates “channels” of music similar to what you have requested. Say I ask for the music like "Broken Social Scene", first a Broken Social Scene song will pop up, and then one similar to the band.




Of all of these Pandora is definitely the easiest to do, and to find other bands on.


Concerts

You can go to concerts by a favorite band. Most of the time, the openeing band (or main band for that matter) will be similar to the band you like playing. This way you actually get to see the band itself, which is a great experience


Warning this is a lot of fun, if you are emo, please don't do this as it may cause you to be happy


Itunes

On itunes is a button that says “Listeners Also Bought”, It will show you what other buyers of this music also bought.

Warning with this one, you get a lot of weird shit
