I have some RWT questions...

I'm a relatively new gold buyer in RS 2007, I had a few questions for any hardcore buyers/sellers/ or even farmers.

So I bought about 20-30mill on an alternate account that I've had for at least a couple months, probably longer. I created the account on my home IP but used a VPN for the direct trade.

The alt account is somewhat leveled and had hours played. Also, I haven't transferred the gold to my main yet because both accounts are already connected through the original IP and I don't want to risk a chain ban.

1. Did I completely fuck my main, if this mule/alt gets banned? (Chain ban?)

2. Would it be safer to only play the alt on that same dedicated VPN ip from now on? (Have it talk to my main as if he is a friend? Or something?)

3. What should I do differently in the future to further prevent the chance of a chain ban or preferably prevent a ban on my main account?

4. What are some obvious/safe methods to transfer from my alt to my main?

5. If my streaming ever takes off on my main, should I take any special precautions to not get reported? (Besides the obvious, don't tell people lol.) But would they look into trade history even if random people reported me?(For any reason)

20-30m is nothing. I wouldn't worry at all. I've transfered 200m+ from alts to my main and i've never used a VPN.

 

I've bought and sold well over 1B 07 through my personal trading on the same account.

I've also bought and sold upwards of 200M so far off of my current account and had no issues at all.

RWT bans are extremely uncommon unless you are known in RS as someone who has a lot of money.

Just stick to common sense and you'll be fine.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I've read numerous threads about the ban rate and methods, etc. I just didn't know if there were any other precautions to take in my personal situation.

By the way, Nick, you were the first and only person I bought gold from in RS2(pre-eoc). Looking forward to seeing your shop open up to buyers and not just sellers

Unfortunately I'm out of the gold buying/selling business now, but there are a number of good merchants still on these forums.

 

Aw that is too bad. I just found your GP exchange site and thought it was still active. I use the best of the best now since you're out of the business.

 

Although you're probably 99% safe, if you don't want to have that 1% risk you can buy a proxy and run it, create a new account for your mule, then whenever you log into that account use the proxy

 

Thanks for the tips. I've heard a lot lately about bot farms chain bans even though each account is on a different proxy. Is this due to their VPS/computer's Jagex cache or Mac address?

 

Only RWTers that get banned are the ones that are mass gold farming usually.

I really don't think you'll get banned, i've sold tons off of one account and haven't been touched yet. =p

 

I've sold a lot of gold. The only time I got caught was when I got quite popular on youtube (4.5k subs). Then in feb 2014 I woke up to a mass RWT ban and my youtube channel taken down by jagex.

Since then I've RWT'd a lot more and not had a single ban/lock so I think you'll be safe buddy

 

You have nothing to worry. I used to transfer hundreds of mills from a pmod account that is obviously monitored. Unless you're doing trades that could shift the economy, they shouldn't be alarmed.

 

youll be fine. i have done bils throughout my runescape career and never got banned lol
