You may already know how to clean your room. You just don't like doing it. And now a parental unit is threatening to take away TV privileges until your room is clean, and your favorite TV show is on in an hour! You want to know how to clean your room fast. The priority here is speed, not thoroughness.
1. Put on some upbeat music, it will make you feel the need to move fast.
2. Pick up the big stuff first! It will make your room seem cleaner without really doing anything!
3. Pick up your clothes and make them into two piles, dirty and clean. Put the dirty clothes in your hamper or in a neat pile on your closet floor and hang up or put away the clean clothes.
4. Put all the obvious garbage in the bin and take all used dishes to the kitchen.
5. Put things that belong in the bathroom away. (ex. Hair supplies, Makeup,)
6. Put all your books on your bookshelves.
7. Put away all the 'knick knacks'you have in your room.
8. Make your bed. *note: strip the bed and wipe it off before you put the sheets on, this way you can have a clean bed to sleep in after it's made! A well-made bed goes a long way, especially in parents' eyes. (That, and it's always nice to crawl into a made bed at night)
9. Vacuum/mop/sweep your room, to pick up all the little tiny things on the floor (for example, pet food,beads, or tiny pieces of trash)
10. Clean the surfaces of your desk, dresser, and other surfaces and close the closet so that the room "feels" more clean. Dust and exposed clutter may not be filth, but they leave a bad impression.
11. Spray your favorite smell of air freshener if you have bad odours in your room, otherwise do it anyways for a rewarding smell. Some parents may even appreciate some incense smoldering in the corner.
