How to begin to freestyle.

Chapter 1:

Alright, Well the key object of freestyling, is being able to make good rhymes, still be extremely intelligently lyrical, and keeping your flow good. To keep your flow good i suggest practicing speaking fast, Try saying
Lips..
Teeth..
Tip of the tounge..

over and over again, faster and faster until you cant anymore, This will help improve your flow as your words will come out smoother, This is completely on opinion, but this is a method that in my personal opinion works.
There are many "flow" excersises, pretty much any tongue twisters will do, Just make sure to say them fast, and say them slow, and make sure, to always make yourself sound good saying them.
To further your knowledge with flow, Try saying random events and things that have happened, this is where true lyrical beauty comes from, the heart. I will be using the following as an example:

I keep dreaming of death and I'm hearing people screaming
The devil's spirit's trapped inside me and I want it out
I'm on the couch bleeding to death in a haunted house
With both of my wrists slit, I'm lifted up in the air
And suspended in animation like someone's holding me there
I feel somebody's cold hands wrapping around my neck
While I choke on my own blood that I swallow and drown to death
But I found a breath and somehow managed to slip the clutches
Nearly blacking out from dizziness and head rushes
Tripping over OD'd bodies of dead lushes
Bloodstains paint the plush carpet like red blushes
Door's open and close by themselves, books fly off shelves
Curtains catch fire, the house melts
My skin blisters and sticks together like twin sisters
The wind blows and shatters windows like ten twisters
Caught a piece of shrapnel in the Adam's apple
Two cups of holy water and I'm looking at 'em half full
But as soon as I go to touch 'em they turn into red rum
It got silent, then all these voices said
"Come follow me into the pits of Hell"
I heard 'em yell "Welcome to the Norman Bates Motel!"
I ring the bell for service and I was greeted by his mother
Covered in dry blood, head still dented from the shovel
I said I need a room so I could try to get some rest
She gave me the keys to the best suite and a bag of cess
And told me that's just for starters, Satan'll be in to see me later

Chapter 2:
Expanding Vocabulary.
In this chapter I will be teaching you about the benefits of a superior vocabulary.
A strong vocabulary will let your lyrical picture shine, lyrics are the whole point of freestyling.
You may ask, How are lyrics the main point, if you aren't supposed to use anything written?
This is because if you say something fake and not from the heart like:

you just go eat your waffle, in mid air.

Though you will be respected as a comedian, Not so much as a freestyle artist.

To get your vocabulary in your mind up and quicker, i suggest using tremendous words whenever you can, Here's a short list of words a lot of people don't use often:

Superb
Torture
Descriptive words, such as:
Plush
Giant
Microscopic
And random words such as:
Membrane
Levitate

And anything really that is an actual word.
there is a great website called

it will be your best friend for freestyling, You can use the Thesaurus feature to get bigger words. Other then that, Speaking with a superior vocabulary often will get the words through your head, And though you will begin talking like a smartass, it will help quite a bit for those who aren't born talented (2Pac, Biggie, Eminem).



Chapter 3:
Quickening Thought Process:
This chapter is to give you some ideas on how to speed up your thought process. This will give you your REAL skill in freestyling, as most people freeze up.

Some ideas on speeding your thought process up:
Try doing everything faster, and respond to things instantly, this is a hard subject to give information on, as for most people it is different.
Google "Reflex Games" and practice them, Then practice freestyling.
That's about as far as i can go typing, If you need more help we can speak on a Ventrilo server or somthing else.






Chapter 4:
Improving your Vocals (Fast Raps)
You're in the middle of a rap battle, you need to end it, What do you do to "finish him"?
You do one last verse, in a fast rap.
The key to this, is zone out when the other person is rapping (Their are different methods, some people are just naturally talented and can fast rap, (Bizzy Bone))
and when "zoning" out, get your freestyle thought up, at least the boundries, you need to take in the beat, and come up with somthing, My example:

My name is Christian, im crazy you better run
only mother fucker, that'll shoot you with a knife and stab you with a gun
straight out of, a rap, and you cant give me a clap
while im teaching you to have style, and not to sound like crap.
so dont come on here, thinking your better, trying to lie
when i'll stick you with a needle, straight in the fucking eye.

Never be embarrassed about what you say, Because it's uniqueness that sets you apart from everyone else, and that's a big thing to remember.





Chapter 5:
Staying on beat


In this, theres not much i can explain, so all i can do is give you tips on how to improve your staying on beat and hope that you grow up to be a famous rapper, and send me lots of money.

Beat Practices:

Step your foot in a repeating pattern, then rap somthing, it can be written, don't freestyle until you have keeping your beat down in your head.

Number 2:

Step your foot and say 2 then step it again and say 1 then do this over and over, get faster but stay in the pattern, This sounds odd, but it was recommended by a very amazing musician that was nice enough to give me vocal pointers at a concert (I sing to.)

Number 3:

Shout "ONE TWO" step for "Three Four" and clap for "Five Six"
This should all be in a pattern, You shout one two, Step twice, and clap twice all while remembering what you are on.

In this chapter i will inform you of some practices and whatnot for Freestyling.
The key of this chapter, and the broken down idea of it is that you need to freestyle whenever possible.

Try typing up a few freestyles out of nowhere
If you can get more then three you are progressing, This music takes time.
You will increase the amount of freestyles per day that you can get.
If you try and do to many, your brain automatically thinks "well, i dont want to use the same line" so when you run out, you say stupid freestyles.

I find this guide to be very very descriptive. I Mean it obviously shows the time and effort put into constructing such a guide.

I read it Multiple times and find that I learned a few Things. I always wanted to be able to free-style off the top of my Head. Don't get me wrong, I don't suck at it. Just not the best.
