You need to invest quite a lot in bonds if you think about it, unless you have accounts ready to bot something that is good money, you are going to have to train them from scratch. Which if this is for more then 1 account which I presume it is will add up. You will need to buy a vps also if you haven't got one already and for the best botting experience some premium scripts. You need to search around for prices of these things and calculate your initial maximum investment. When making a bot farm you need to think is it something your going to stick with even if your accounts do get continuously banned.

ok but what is the output like and what is the time investment like?

Wait, do you not have an Archer rank?
Why can't I hold all of these feels?
Since you want a vps, and only wanting to spend 20, your output will be extremely small. That's nearly the cost of a decent vps, and will leave you maybe enough money for a script and 1 account, max of 2. If you don't have the money/time to make new accounts when old ones are banned, you will be botting for only a few hours a day, maybe making 2-3m a day, at that rate it'll take nearly 2 weeks to even come even.

what if i invest enough for everything, £60 ish or w/e??

It all depends on what you'll be botting. You have to look at each account costing ~5m/month in bonds, then how much it would cost to train the accounts to the point at which they start botting something. Assuming most public scripts are ~200k an hour, each account has to run for 25 hours to pay for it's bonds in a month. It all depends on what your scripts are really. I've got a private script making ~600k an hour low reqs, so my output it high, but you could also have a script with no reqs and f2p making 50k an hour. That's mainly what it depends on.

You're going to have to invest a lot of time checking up on it, dealing with bans, making sure the scripts are working. I've tried putting money into a private script and the thing that really got me down was all the bans. If you're ready to put many hours into it then go for it.

Bot farm profits depend heavily on how bans are. You can make thousands a month (i.e. in December or July when there's like no bans because everyone is on vacation) or you can make a loss if you get rekt with bans before you make profit (Hopefully your plan makes back the investment in a weekend or the 16 hours Jagex doesn't work to avoid any losses).

If you want to invest little money you will need to invest a great deal of time into it instead.

If you invest more you can buy scripts for a F2P automated farm with no risk and a decent reward or a private script for a really good method or just get a bunch of P2P accounts on a common method. If 20 pounds is all you have, you'll likely be spending it all on the VPS or spending most of it on a VPS and the rest on whatever cheap decent script you can get your hands on. You'll also need to spend a shit ton of time doing everything manually. With 60 you can get a decent VPS and script and a few accounts but you will still need to do everything manually.

how can one do it auto?

Some bots have auto-progression features and automatic trading to mules.

For example:

Level 1 - Trees
Level 15 - the bots will go to Oaks

Then trade all the logs to the mule automatically.
ah ok, thats pretty fuckin cool

are the mule ones expensive?

With 20$ per month, you could run more accounts on proxies than on a VPS.
Do some research yourself, bond prices, proxy/vpn prices, gp/hour, how many hours would you be able to run the bot per day, how many GP do you estimate making in one day. Then you can calculate how long it would take to earn your investment back + make some profit.

i mean bots that sync to a mule at times
