Assets and Investment

Now that cryptocurrency has its own forum, can we reinstate Assets and Investment as a forum? It has many times more posts, views, and replies than crypto and, I'd argue even, encompasses crypto since most of the discussion about x-coins is made from an investment point of view. And, if it makes people happy, crypto can become a subforum of Assets and Investment.

To be clear, I don't care where crypto ends up; I just think Assets and Investments deserves reinstating if crypto gets its own forum.

 

Really wouldn't like to see crypto go under assets and investment.

 

Edited for clarity. I don't really care where crypto goes. I don't see how it's NOT an investment though. Currency discussion certainly falls within the realm of investments (forex), and that's what the crypto forum is right now.

This. It cannot have it's own section when there isn't much to talk about. Digital currency as a whole should stay in market discussion and there only. I said before it's a dead section and it follows suit.

Was going to make a topic on this, but forgot. This also needs to be removed completely. There are never any views in that forum.

 

I like the idea of merging both of them together in hopes activity boosts in the section.

Don't see it staying for the long-run either way though.

 

Either way, it's better than the current situation with two underused forums. Might as well combine them in hopes of getting more out of both of them.

 

This. Market discussion itself as a forum isn't exactly booming with topics. Spreading out the material by opening new forums is only making more of a inactivity problem and is a mistake. Its one thing to have a specific section if there's a need for it for example if there was an overflow of crypto topics being made and it was not allowing other topics to surface.

I would much rather see the market discussion forum booming with new topics about both ideas you suggested instead of having these separate forums that get maybe one topic per week.

These forums people are suggesting are entirely too specific. Just because you make a forum for it does not mean its going to have contributors. Where are the contributors for this forum and why aren't they making topics in the market discussion forum now?

 

SIGH. Crypto discussion is there for the introduction of Wallets to Sythe. Should wallets bring new members seeking crypto-related areas then there is one. It's trivial, at the moment it's not the busiest, but we need to start anticipating these things to bring in new members who perhaps aren't primarily interested in gaming. It's better to create a section which could potentially be very active and then merge it elsewhere if it isn't than to miss the opportunity and activity by just ignoring it. Let's leave crypto how it is and let it do what we intended to see how it goes. I'm not saying it will go well, but it could be HUGE. Crypto is a massive thing these days, and if we could get in to that niche it would be hugely beneficial to us as a site.

Anyways, as far as assets and investments goes; it was there for a looong time and wasn't very active. Hence why we condensed it in the first place. I haven't even seen any relevant topics for a thread there since we removed it.

 

Thanks for the well-explained reply. Are real-world markets fair game in market discussion, or is that for discussion of sythe markets (i.e., RS, WoW, LoL, etc.)? I don't see any sort of real-world, non-crypto discussion there and would post regarding it but for a lack of similar threads at the moment. Thanks!

Okay, my thread got nowhere in com gen . I guess that means it's either the fact that a) no one is interested in this topic in com gen; or b) those interested in it aren't finding com gen for the purpose of this sort of thread. I'll keep trying I guess. Oh well.

 

I think you're on the wrong forum, most Sythe users are early teens & have no interest in stocks. Tis a gaming site after all.
