How long does account recovery takes?

Hi guys, well this is my current situation. I called in to blizzard telling them my account was hacked and i would want to recover it. They asked me for email that my wow account was bound to. And then they asked me for the email i was using right now.

They told me they will send me an email with info and stuff how to recover my account , i was needed to take a picture of my ID card and a newspaper of the day.

My question is how long does it take for this email to come? I called in to blizz on monday, 24th of may. And i still havn't got the email.

I've had this happen. FOr one, if you had any characters 70+ with non maxed gathering profs prepare for them to be maxed.

And oh, you didn't get the e-mail if it hasn't came yet.

And also send a valid ID attatched with that forum as well as a CDkey of the created account for faster recovery.

Valid ID would be like Drivers license, passport, Goverment issued license, birth certificate.


Also, don't send it to regular account administration as it will take a day or two. For this process they just wait a day to read the email, then forward it to the supervisor which takes another day to read it...

Cut the time in half by sending it to the supervisor directly. [email protected].

also, make sure the name on the acccount is the same name as the ID or the account will be banned.


Another thing, if you've been hacked like this(and this wasn't a result from trying to sell the acccount to someone) you probably have a keylogger.

Scan your computer asap.

Normally you can get the situation sorted via phone, however, in your case it doesn't seem like that worked.

What you can do is, you can go directly to their "Webform" service, and fill it out. ( https://eu.blizzard.com/support/webform.xml?locale=en_GB ). (That's the EU one, if you're from the US, it's a different one).

Well, unfortunantly I do not have that sort of patience. I promise you, you can end up waiting a long time before they actually contact you, if they even do.

When ever I've called and had issue(s), they've always sent me an email the same day, or not at all (they just "forgot").

Webform works even if you haven't called them. I assume your priority will be a bit higher up seeing as you already called them (if you use the email you told them), however, Blizzard do take quite some time to respond to webforms. (You can be lucky and get it the very next day, or you might even have to wait weeks).
